Amy, the same thing happened to me. I got that same deal that I could pick all those items for Penny and I saw it was like a hoax so I was like taking my time. I haven’t experienced the “gunk” problem with Candy Bella. Maybe it is the sponge getting worn? Or try using it more lightly? It is a wonderful product for that “T” zone!
