Thanks man! Gain staging is pretty important on OT. You mentioned some tiny preamp or compressor and link in the description but i couldn't find one...

excellent video as everything you do! What program do you use for the sample editing on the computer? Could you maybe ellaborate on some quick/useful workaround on sample treatment in the computer? 24 or 16 bi?

Thanks for watching! I use Ableton for my file editing. Biggest tip I'd say regarding file prep, is to use warp markers to get your tracks sync-ed to tempo. And even consider having the tempo in the name of the files. That way you can just set the tempo manually within the Octatrack, instead of relying on its not-so-great detection. File format-wise, I tend to be pretty flexible...I don't even really know what file formats my files are in most of the time, but I'm pretty sure I stick with 44.1/24-bit most of the time. I made a video a while back, on sampling directly from Ableton into the Octatrack (provided you have an audio interface for it). This might give you some more ideas: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKiVnIWuq7OtaNk

Speaking of gain volume, this video is super quiet!

Ah, how embarrassing! I'll be sure to keep an eye/ear on that next time.
