I think OT has been made out to be way more intimidating or convoluted than it really is. I’ve just been using it for a couple weeks now and I’m finding it quite logical and easy to get a grip on. Certainly helps to have clear and concise tutorials like this though!

steep initial learning curve but great tool once mastered. Powerful central brain of a studio.

TIL you can scroll through samples in their home directory by pressing FUNC left or right in the SRC Setup menu. This is a game changer for me and how I will setup my sample folders in the future. Also, the residual slice points carrying over into the next sample selected was a good insight into how the OT thinks of file data.

Man, you break this down in such a concise manner without making this a 2 hour affair.

Cool, conditional trigs often heared, but you showed me how to apply it practically to this OT beast which increases my pleasure mangling with it in a flow without getting stuck and frustrated, many thanks for that.

Other than the low lighting + camera angle, this was fantastic! This would have taken at least 3x longer to be explained on most anyone else’s channel. No filler material - just direct and clear to the point without being rushed. Excellent!!

Thanks for this excellent tutorial! Regarding Samples: is the machine coming with factory samples (size)? If using the octa in stand alone mode (no other machines), how to you upload samples? Thanks!
@cellrok

An Octatrack has CF card slot in the back. It comes with a 8GB one that contains about 2GB of stock samples and a demo project. You can buy up to 64GB CF cards to use with Octatrack. There are also card readers for PC that work, bit I would leave it plugged in once installed and use the "USB Disk Mode" that you can activate in the system menu. Your Octatrack will them pop up as drive in you PC and you can upload and download anything you like. A folder with sample packs, for example. If you then safe-eject the drive on your computer the Octatrack returns to the normal operation state and you can continue playing. Its quick and easy to do.

@@cellrok hey cellrok, the thing is: i got this "perfect pattern" and sooo many ideas with the octatrack. i would like to develope this pattern into a nice track/jam... so could you please give me some more ways to add on variations without using an other "part". and btw. i like to use a xoxbox to give my jams a acid flavour and i really like to know how i can add easily this "slide" function. thanks anyway, cheers :)

Its the Octatrack MK2 - it has the same operating system as the original black version (MK1). Just has a different screen, and some extra buttons for direct access to some functions you'd need key-combos before.
