If you are lost at 4:13 because the "+" actually does not appear and the recording doesn't not start, it's because @Ricky uses a shortcut that you have to enable in Project menu > System menu > Personalize menu > Record Quick Mode: TRUE. Also, If QREC is OFF, go to AED to start recording by pressing REC3 (but that's not always required, couldn't understand why, sometimes it works outside of AED too, sometimes not)

Yo at 10:20 you're like "if you set the scene volume to min you can't hear the fx on the scene" which is true - unless you have the scene volume at min but the scene amp vol up - which effectively creates three regimes of sound with an additional one in the middle of the crossfader (Scene A: no fx, Middle: partial FX and same volume, Scene B: no volume). This is because of the linear amp vol being summed with the non-linear crossfade volume

I always believed that Eurorack needs some better way to cue things like the way you're doing it. Hey all, I’m missing something and it must be simple because I can’t find anyone talking about it. My issue is that my flex machine on 6 is silent while it is recording. For the first part of this video, the icon for his flex track on 6 shows a plus sign while recording. At approximately 5:29 the icon for the flex track on 6 changes to a plus sign with a play symbol while recording (indicating overdub). This allows us to still hear the recorded version on 6 with track 5 muted while it’s recording the modified patch. I think it has to do with my playback trigs and recording trigs on track 6 but I’m stumped. Any help for this OT noob would be greatly appreciated!

Okay good news, one more session and I was able to figure it out. Turns out I had set a trig on t6 while I was in the record setup menu. Once I cleared the record trig I was able to get the recording working as desired. Anyway, I wanted to share in case anyone was stuck like I was.

He’s not sequencing the recording via a record trig. He’s triggering the recording manually with the rec3 button, with quick record enabled in the project settings. He has the recorder setup to be quantised to 16 steps, so wherever he presses it will always start on time. The rec length is set to 16 steps so it only captures one bar.
