A loose chain can also pop off the bar. After warming up, it's a good idea to check chain tension. Some chains stretch enough to get loose when they heat up.

Question ... my saw oiler is oiling but it's not reaching the bar and chain ... the machine is immaculate ... what could I be missing ?? Why wouldn't oil be making it to the bar and chain ??
@ozarkprepper17182 жыл бұрын
The oil tube or the bar could be dirty. Get a solid piece of electric fence wire or mig welding wire and run it down the kerf of your bar and dont forget the holes on the bar that line up with the oiler

Too true, they do make tools that clean the trench of the guide bar. I made one from an old hacksaw blade. It works wonders pulling out trash from the bar and it cost nothing. Appreciate the channel; couldn't stop staring at the chain catch and how mangled it was and wondering how many chains it caught from a jumping chain.

Where is the 'oil' adjustment on these type oilers (cs2245). I need to calm this one down. Case is marked +- - but there is no adjustment screw/lever

I have a new to me 445 saw. runs great cutting great after I sharpened tuned the chain. It seems to be over oiling but there is no adjustment screw on the 445. Any suggestions?

If its over oiling look behind the metal shield. The tube may not be in the oil tank hole and it my be running out. Other suggestion is use a summer mix oil. Its thicker for warm weather.

I have the same problem with mine and it’s once used new. It leaks oil into my saw box just sitting. Did you get yours figured out?
@JohnnyButtercuts Жыл бұрын
I think that’s the one inherent problem with Husqvarna. My dad has a 445 he bought 3 years ago. Leaks bar oil just sitting in the case. There’s no adjustment screw and I think it’s coming out from the inside of the saw but idk until I open the saw up and inspect it
@TNcountrylife Жыл бұрын
@@idahohusker7655 I cleared it out very well and appears to be better. If I just run it without out cutting it is worse. Not nearly as bad when I'm cutting

Good information... I’m dealing with about the same issues with my 460 Rancher

Theres an adjustment on the bottom of their saws. There is a diagram in the plastic. Counterclockwise gives more oil.

Not on the 445 450. I have a few of them.
@Keto-Cheato10 ай бұрын
@ozarkprepper1718 I've got both. They are marked on the case, but apparently don't actually have adjustment. Go figure. My 450 will still have 1/2 a tank of oil after the gas runs out. AND I put a bigger bar on it. ?

Maybe you can help me. I have a 445 that is not oiling the bar. I have replaced everything pertaining to the pump and the oil screen inside the sump is clean. There is no adjustment for oil feed on this model. I pressurized the oil sump and it blows out where the oil tube goes free and clear. The bar oil holes are clean as is the chain guide around the bar. From what I gathered the oil sump is not vented BUT my only clue is that with the oil pump assembly completely removed, and the saw laying oil pump/clutch side down on the bench, no oil flows out of the hole where the oil hose goes - until I open the oil fill cap on top at which time it flows freely out the bottom side. My only other clue is something called a duckbill, could this be the problem?
@ozarkprepper1718 Жыл бұрын
Im not sure. The only issue mine had was the gear on the pump itself,or the wormgear. Years ago i discovered the bar getting sawdust built up in the kerf realky affected it. Im not sure of it having an oil tank vent. The guy who would know for sure is Donnie Walker. Look him up on youtube.

That mud dauber, aka wasp nest between the rear of the cover and the motor probably had nothing to do with the chain coming off.
@danielpaulson7863 жыл бұрын
That problem with the drive sprocket is not from the oiler malfunctioning,it's from running the wrong chain on the saw,specifically the wrong drivelinks on it.trust me it's the wrong chain.

I had one wear out on mine but not from the oiler. Just normal wear cutting a truckload every day since 2008. Lol. The one i fixed was same issue. Sprocket was just wore. When they reach a certain amount of wear they throw chains. I may have not worded correctly. But the sprocket not being changed caused most of the drama on that saw.Every time that chain popped off,the crackhead that must have owned it kept putting it back on and going for more. Even the aluminum chain guard was ripped off. The plastic top of the saw was also busted. Pawn shop special. It looks and runs like new now!
