It's refreshing too see someone in sales who actually knows what he's selling. Just bought myself a 445 and this was super helpful. Do u have a video covering break in procedure? Would be useful as well imo

Proud owner of a 445, bought almost new from a pawn shop a few years ago, no major problems, it's a little beast, quite a bit of power but light enough to climb on the trees with , still in use, I intend to keep it for a long time...

Got mine about 4 yrs. ago and absolutely love it. Starts easy, goes like hell and is the ideal homeowner saw. Husky gas is good but If you can't find it easily get some VP Racing Octanium fuel additive and use it appropriately. Very helpful if you live in areas where Ethanol is added to pump gas in the winter, and it won't rot your fuel line hoses.

Super informative video! I just ordered this same saw online tonight. I feel like I have a good understanding of everything now after watching this and will be ready once it arrives in a couple of days. I've been using a family members older Husqvarna for some small jobs, but I've never had one of my own (and they usually handle the maintenance). I feel like I can hit the ground running now and won't be afraid I'm going to break it before it has more than 5 minutes on it. :) Thanks so much!

I bought the Husqvarna 455 Rancher a couple of years ago and it has been excellent! I have taken down a few trees with it, but generally use it for logging up for firewood. So far, no complaints!

Really nice vid. When I asked my wife to grab another saw and she came back with this I frowned. Turned out to be a really good saw. Have 2 cut 30 inch trees with ease.

I’m getting through trees wider than the bar with my 445. Works great! Way better than my harbor freight poulon pro pile of crap. Just watch out for the dirt. I barely touched some and dulled my chain already. Got a sharpener kit and a new chain today. Also realized you can put. 20” bar and chain on the 445. Will be my next upgrade. Really gotta let the saw engine do the work though if you add more friction I’d assume.

Thank you very much for your very clear and concise, no nonsense explanation of all the key points which I needed to know about my 20 year old chainsaw. I wonder if the owner's manual is available online.

Why does my 445 leak bar oil? Is this normal? Never used just sat in my house over the winter. Thanks. Was only ever started once at the dealers and then once by me to make sure it was ready if I needed it.

I have the first gen 445. It has toolles cover for the bar witch i like better than the second gen. The saw always starts easy, mine even has a de-comp button, but i never use it. I run a 15" bar one mine, perfect for the woods along the fjords in Norway.

Not 900 feet per second. That's that's the muzzle velocity of a 38 special. Supersonic. 900 feet per MINUTE maybe?? I have a 2007 model 445 (and everything from an modded Echo 2511t to a MS660). The 445 is a good light midrange saw and it's been very reliable, have over a dozen worn out chains on the nail, and a couple of bars. Be aware you're limited to a 20" bar unless you change the clutch to a 3/8' from the stock 325. Not a big deal as the 325 chain uses the power to maximum effect. I do occasionally wish I had a longer bar on it to avoid bending quite so much, but all up, it's a great combo. Wish I had the flip up caps on mine. Gotta order some.
@Carlsmower2 жыл бұрын
The flip caps are nice. Did I miss state the chain speed? Usually chains move at around 5000 feet per minute or 88 feet per second

@@Carlsmower Just picking, no offense intended, I think I see where the number came from, Husqvarna rates the saw at 9000 rpm (peak HP). I'm a retired engineer, and can't help run the numbers on almost everything. For fun, I figured it out exactly. The 445 has a 7 tooth drive sprocket stock, thus at 9000 rpm pulls 63,000 drive links per minute. .325 chain has (12/.325) 36.92 links/ft, so 63,000/36.92=1706.39 fpm or 28 fps. I thought I saw a max RPM of 133% pk hp, so she might manage (28x1.33) a bit over 37 fps unloaded. The 445 is a 'torque machine' (Xtorq) as saws go, with many running higher rpms these days, but I see the current 445 is a totally different machine than the 2007 model, The new 445 even seems to be a different displacement. I'll spare you the torque to linear pull calculations. As you can see, it's a disease acquired over 40 odd years of doing this sort of thing for a living. Good video!

Just got my Husqvarna 445, Works great, but can anyone tell me if the screwdriver tool is stored on the chainsaw or do I have to keep it on my workbench? My previous craftsman had a location under the chainsaw for storage. Thanks guys!

So the oil goes on the chain automatically during operation? This is my first new saw in a long time and my last one had a button for putting out oil.

I got shocked when I heard you saying that 95 octane was high. I had to look up what octane you use over there. Here in Sweden 95 octane is the lowest you can get and 98 the highest right now. Is it true that you guys use around 87-94 octane?

Crotch starting a saw is not ideal if a saw happens to throw a chain. Drop starting (later in vid) a saw like you have done is not recommended by any manufacturer. The reason the base handle is so wide is so you can put a foot on it.....on the ground and step on the saw while you're pulling. If you are selling saws and advising new customers regarding safety techniques I feel bad for them. My experience level (25 yrs): Husq 445 x 18" ...rpl'd w a 20" Stihl 660 x 32" professional series Stihl 880M x 60" professional series

I was using my 445 last week and it started throwing sparks as I cut. WTF Said I. Turns out the oil port was clogged up and the chain wasn't getting oil. I cleaned it and now it's fine. This saw pumps oil even when idling, and the oiler is not adjustable. That makes clogs more likely. Overall, it's a good homeowner grade saw, though.

Throw it away and go buy a Stihl

We all have our favorites. It seems that Husqvarna owners should stick with their brand and Stihl with theirs. When people switch it’s like a Ford person buying a Chevy. They’ll find/cause the problems

🤣🤣🤣 I"ve got both, each for different reasons, and a couple of ECHO'S as well. So far the husky's are in front. Stihl's seem to be very finicky, but that could just be mine. For the bigger rounds (20 in and up) I use the Echo's👍
