Nice update Nick…great patience with the rock face…really like those military CP units….got the CN unit from Scale Trains…like the idea of moving those industries around to give you more operating space…paper mills are large…would’ve liked to model one myself…looking forward to seeing more of your progress

Your Layout room is beautiful... Your plaster rock work came out super nice which is something I need to do and just cant seem to get motivated and I model the Altamont (CA) and its just rolling hills, no rocks and no trees... just Wind Turbines... This past summer in Sacramento was really hot so Im also looking at A/C units... I have 800 sq. ft... what is the make of your unit if you dont mind me asking... great video! DD 🤔🤗

Hey Dave, Sorry for the late response. The air conditioning unit is made by LG and is a 12000 BTU output. That is technically way smaller than what the space required. however, it does the trick!

The rock carving looks incredible Nick. I hope that you will record a how you do for coloring the rocks. Still impressed by your layout and trains.

Thanks Derek! I’ll see what I can do to document my process of colouring the rock carvings!

Hi, What happens when it's hot ? How does it effect layout, rolling stock, scenery, wiring? I was wondering.
@SD70ACEguy2 жыл бұрын
The rails expand fairly easily when the temperature increases. This doesn’t cause to many issues for me, as I have cut expansion gaps into my mainlines; however, it does effect the operation of my swing gate. Also etched metal walkways expand fairly easily. Causing them to warp and separate from the models. It’s mainly to protect the rolling stock and locomotives.

Awesome video, a question as I am new to the hobby and missed these CP Military units, where did you get them from and where did you pre-order then new CP units you mentioned? They are so nice and now I need some of my own!

I order most of my locomotives through Otter Valley Trains. Not sure about the availability of the previous run, however I’m sure you can find them used in FB market place
