I smiled when you said you thought you must have an incomplete version of the Holmes story, that really myst be a bad ending Berna! 😉 I really enjoy Tokarczuk and love Drive Your Plow but I’m currently reading her new one Empusium and not very impressed. 😬

It was so sudden!! Drive Your Plow had a good plot but like I said I had problems with the way she chose to tell it.

I’m with Jack that my favourite Sherlock Holmes short story is a study in Scarlett but I think I’m not great with short stories

I read A Study in Scarlet for the first time this Victober. The only Arthur Conan Doyle I’d read previously had been The Hound of the Baskervilles. I enjoyed most of A Study in Scarlet but the motive behind the crimes was probably the least enjoyable part of it for me. I am looking forward to reading more though.

His Sherlock Holmes stories are much better than the one I read this month 😃 and aside from the Hound of the Baskervilles, I think his short stories featuring Holmes are better than his novellas
