Love your GIS. She looks beautiful and a credit to you. I also have one in NZ that I built 2 years ago. Perfect boat and easy to handle for an old guy like me :) keep up your filming of a very high standard, thank you and keep safe, John.

Hello John, thanks to you. Season just starts here in Germany and yes the plan ist to make some more little films about sailing here at the lake. Stay healthy Axel

Great looking GIS! I'm a dingy sailor as well and I live not so far from Lake Constance in Switzerland. Maybe we will see each other on the lake when the season starts :)

Thanks, I sail the most time at the "Untersee" it's the part of Bodensee between Konstanz and Stein am Rhein.

@@aw-marinebootsbau3224 I find it difficult to access the lakes in Switzerland with a boat on a trailer. The problem lies in parking the car with the trailer :) Do you have access to the lake on the German side where one can just come with a boat on a trailer, launch the boat and leave the car with the trailer in a parking space? I lived in the US for a long time and that was a normal practice but in Europe things seem to work differently. Any advice would be appreciated.

I can't believe how this clip was recommended, despite me always searching for Goat Island skiff clips and this one never come up. (in fact many of the ones recommended have never come up when I've typed in a search. i've been searching for my next build after selling my trailer sailer, I want something which is easier to deal with and will suit my style of sailing, fishing, diving and just camping overnight on remote beaches down here in Southern Australia. I've decided on the GIS and now seeing this lengthened version I want to know all about it. Have you got any info concerning the lengthening design etc? Cheers for the great clip, these are such nice little boats
@aw-marinebootsbau3224 Жыл бұрын
Hello the lengthened Version is just stretched from 4.75m to 5m. All mesurements in longitudinal direction where stretched. I enlarged the sail too (near 12m²). The topweight increases, boom, yard and mast are ab bit heavier, so I suggest to use the standard rig meaurements or use carbon tubes (nearby 10m²). Thats enough. You can find more Information on www.aw-marine.com within the next weeks. In moment the site is under construction. Hope we finish before october.

@@aw-marinebootsbau3224 Was is the reason to stretch the GIS only 0.25m ?
@liamstone34376 ай бұрын
It seams you added 27 cm to your length. Where did you add it and why?
@aw-marinebootsbau322411 күн бұрын
I elongated all measurements in the ratio of 5:4.75 so its very homogenius. Therefore I had to draw the boat totaly new. I did the job on Delftship boat modeling software and did the construction drawin with a 2D CAD program.

Hi Teo, I like your extremely inspiring videos. Waiting always for the next... Can you sail in wintertime there in Portugal?
@TheBoatRambler4 жыл бұрын
@@aw-marinebootsbau3224 Thanks! Yes we could sail all year if we wanted to but most ppl choose to get the (bigger)boats out of the water between November and March for maintenance. I will bring my GIS home before Xmas for some changes/maintenance this year.

@@TheBoatRambler Fortunately you have a small boat and can go on makin' some videos for us freezing and waiting sailors, shortening our days until we hit the water next spring! I'm interested in what you will change.

Welche Hölzer hast du für Spanten etc genommen? Kiefer?
@AxelWeissenberger2 жыл бұрын

What type of boat is it ?
@aw-marinebootsbau32243 жыл бұрын
it is a Goat Island Skiff designed by the Australien Designer Michael Storer. I build it a bit longer with a bigger mainsail because of our low winds here.
