I think that music is all about personal interpretation. If you want to interpret this song as one that glorifies your God then you should. Personally, I interpret this song in the way that one would interpret a love song. I love the vulnerability that this song portrays. It's simply beautiful. ♫ ♥

This song always seemed to be about God or a higher power that Amy is turning back to because she needs help. It's bittersweet and heartfelt. A song you can feel in your bones. This is coming from an atheist herself... But I can at least accept the fact that not everyone shares my pov, and can be inspired by their faith to create their art. 🤷 I can also entertain the idea that other atheists get a different meaning from the words. :)

I've noticed that with many of her songs. Which makes sense because Amy Lee is a proud Christian 🙂. Her songs are very open to many different interpretations. But a consistent theme in them, many of them is a Christian undertone. But she does it in a way that it isn't too overbearing but not too vague either. wonderful song writer. ♥️🙂♥️
