I don't know if you've already read this series or not, but The Raven Cycle seems totally up your alley. And perfect for the spooky season ahead. Psychics, magic, adventure, crazy aunts, small town, friend group that you'd want to be in and to top it all, a doomed romance.. have I sold it yet?😂

I remember when i did read what moves the dead it was amazing. It’s kind of surprising of how good the story is with such a small book. I’ve heard there’s a sequel coming soon can’t wait to had this one to my tbr !

I'm just trying to finish A House of Sky and Breath before the beginning of November so I can read Iron Flame when it comes out. I read terribly slow and work 40 hours a week and am 9 days away from getting married, so life is a little bit crazy right now! haha. All of the books I want to read are all coming out at the very end of the year, so I have to be super duper on top of my reading! I loved Goosebumps when I was a kid! I am sure you will enjoy them. Hearing you talk about them now makes me want to pick them up again and read them all over again.

As soon as you said vampire classic but not really a classic, my mind immediately went to Interview with the vampire, and I was right!! I only have three books in my October tbr Frankenstein, Dracula and Cemetary boys. I don't know if I'll be able to get to all of them because I have my exams but I'm excited about all of them.

Ok so, regarding Intervew with the Vampire. I finished the book a week ago and honestly I loved it. The book does get oooff sometimes but the writing is amazing. You can basically see everything through the MC eyes and at the same time see his flaws, his judgement clashing with yours. But the theme is consistent and the topics are fascinating. I think that an interesting fact to know is that Anne Rice wrote that book after her dauther died at the age of 5. It was a very hard time for her and in this book she explored the questions that tormented her, and their answers about life, death, good and evil, the thin line between them, family, dependancy, community and companionship. It just hits different somehow. The movie is quite good and there is also a TV series that is going to have season 2 in 2024. Now i reccomend watching the movie before opting for the TV series, because they change the time period and some of the motivations of the main character. They also made it a quite wild love story so you definetly gotta see the movie first. I am very excited to hear your thoughts on the book and someday maybe for the media adaptations! Have fun!

Some nebulas our eyes remind me of but did someone have your eye color once? Cobwebs have gone too long without our touch where princess-phantoms pray their genes prolong. Her phantom sees you pay to see a film, and sees you pay for fruit she used to plant. Those tangerines that hang are free to steal! because they’ll recognize her in your hand. How could our senses face this many tolls? How could they charge our sense of taste and sight? Behind thy shoulder stands a lovely ghost who established the color of your eyes. Her jaw is dropped. Her heart revives to break, because her kin are less human, more slave.

I‘m currently re-reading the Flavia de Luce series, which vibes really well with October imo. Another book I‘m excited about that I don‘t see being mentioned anywhere yet, is 'If I have to be haunted' by Miranda Sun. Read the first page at the bookstore and it sounded so intriguing right away.

I've read Rice's _Interview with the Vampire_ and Bradbury's _From the Dust Returned._ Both are great. I'd like to ask a couple of questions: 1. How do ghosts, who can pass through solid walls, stand on solid floors? 2. A vampire bites and sucks the blood of a human, turning him/her/them into another blood-thirsty vampire in the process. That way, the whole world should have been populated by vampires by now. No humans, just vampires everywhere. Isn't it?

I first read Interview with a Vampire when I was at university. I can’t remember at what point in the story I became completely hooked, but I had to finish it in one sitting. Which of course meant I finished it at 2 or 3am… and then had to go to sleep with the light on, because the book had hooked me in so much I was terrified Lestat would appear at the end of the bed as soon as the light went out! That may be why I avoid horror now, I’m entirely too susceptible to that kind of story.

I'll always recommend House of Leaves for a spooky read. I just read What Moves the Dead and was a bit disappointed. It had atmosphere and horror but I wanted more of it. A romance between Katrina van Tassel and Ichabod Crane has become a common plotline in Sleepy Hollow adaptations. Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow had the flirtation/start of their romance, and there was a show in the 2000s called Sleepy Hollow where they were married and she was a witch. The first season was fun, but it went downhill. I haven't re-read Interview with a Vampire in forever, but the movie with Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Kirsten Dunst still holds up. I've heard the show is good too.

Small master of death spoiler: i loved the characters and I loved the whole setting. But it was to much character based for me. Where was the plot the first 270 pages? Just "the game here" and "does he love me" here. The ending was epic, yes. But the beginning and middel uff. Got terry pratchett vibes from death❤
