What a great idea to clear the decks and get to books you’ve had on the shelf for a long time - it’s so satisfying to read those long neglected ones that have been waiting so patiently for their turn!!! I’ve been wanting to try Abraham and Kristoff forever myself!

I have the Spear cuts through on my list for October too, however- mine is completely dependent upon the library. Hope we both get to read it and love it!

Lonesome Dove and The Stand will be roll overs from September, I'll only be reading those for quite a while still. Then when I'm done with both of them I got a pool of books I'll pick from, which are these: - Mister Slaughter and They Thirst by Robert McCammon - Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón - Mystic River by Dennis Lehane - Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler - Boy Parts by Eliza Clark - Little Heaven by Nick Cutter Godsgrave and Darkdawn are so entertaining. I hope you have fun with them! I'm interested to see what you think about The Spear Cuts Through Water as well. That book sounds really weird and cool.

This is a great stack of books!The Jimenez and Abraham are on my someday TBR, I hope you have great experiences with them. I have had Angela Carter’s Bloody Chamber on my shelf for *at least* two years 😮 this may be the push I need to dive in-maybe 😂 I’m listening to the full cast audible audiobook of Dracula. The recording is great but I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve ever read the original story. Have a great reading month!

I really need to start Dagger and Coin. I love Daniel Abraham. I read Natural History of Dragons last month and I borrowed the 2nd one from the library. I'll be starting it this weekend probably. It wasn't what I expected, but I really enjoyed the first one. I'm also about to start Shards of Earth by Tchaikovsky. I hope it's as good as his other books are.

My October reading (hopefully my mood stays excited for classics because): Victober!!! Victorian lit all month🎉 The Way We Live Now by Anthony Trollope Man and Wife by Wilkie Collins 2 Sherlock Holmes short stories (that will be my "spooky") The Pict of Dorian Grey by Wilde And one short Russian novel- One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich I need to finish Assassin's Fate but I'm 300 pgs from the end and I can tell I'm going to cry..... sigh. That will be my football watching book where I can read/ watch TV. Then I'll get back to book 4 of Dragon/Coin.😅

Oooh I DNFd Nocturne. The writing wanted to be flowery but was just difficult. Like there would be one sentence, and then a whole page of it repeated over and over in different phrasings. It was taking too long to get any information. Also, I’ve done ballet and the steps described didn’t add up to good dancing. I was picturing the steps she named and it was nonsensical all together, like the author doesn’t dance but just looked up some ballet vocabulary. I do hope you like it though lol 💜
