I noticed(I think)your pinky finger locks in/is double jointed. I have long fingers and my pinky locks/flattens out when I play for a long period of time and it's very painful. Do you have any tips to improve? You're an awesome player and I want to someday learn the cello better, but its very painful to practice for longer than 30 mins at a time(this is especially bad in my orchestra when we can practice upwards of 2-4 hours before concerts). Sorry if I assumed incorrectly and watched the video wrong, but would you have any tips as a fellow cello player? THANK YOU AND I LOVE OCTOPATH

@@Egg-no7xc You're totally right! I'm double jointed and my pinky has always gone into a weird position while playing. That being said, I don't think it's painful for me and everyone is different. My partner is a physiotherapist and she said you could get measured for a DigiSplint, which would be a custom made splint you can wear while playing that prevents your PIP joint from hyper-extending. You can also order silver ring splints from Etsy which would have a similar effect! Over time, you can focus on strengthening that joint so that it doesn't hyper-extend or get stuck in that position as soon as you put pressure on it. Hope that helps! I guess the only other thing I can recommend is to take advantage of rests in the music or during rehearsal to stretch and reset your hand. Wishing you the best! 🎻

Mate, I randomly stumbled across this and your arrangement is sick! You really brought justice to this track! I always LOVE when a 2+ cello arrangement utilises the entire range to create SUCH a full ensemble sound. Also love the additional cello percussion I think I can hear!
