Thank you for sharing. This is a great reminder to view everything with a critical eye. I watched Mental Outlaw's video, and didn't even think twice. It's so easy to think "lul drones are so dumb, you'll get caught", but vendors' would not willingly assume that much risk - so they must have ways around the obvious dangers.

I'm a certified Drone operator, am very much into long distance FPV, and i'm an electrical engineer with my degree concentration in RF. I'm very curious about this encrypted long range drone technology they're using. I'm also very interested in their battery technology lmao. I'm also calling BS. I didn't even see Outlaw's video, but had to go and watch it once i saw the first response paragraph. I don't know shit about hacking or darkweb culture. I am however, familiar with the fact that most illegal vendors are liars and will say anything to push their product or website.

Thanks for sharing your expertise on drones and electrical engineering. However, your sweeping statement about illegal vendors lacks the depth your technical background suggests. In my experience, these vendors often display more integrity than many mainstream providers like ISPs or Amazon, who are under far less scrutiny. You mentioned your qualifications but didn’t provide any technical analysis to back up your skepticism about encrypted drone tech or battery innovations, which I would love to hear. A thorough critique should dive into specifics of why you call "bs", like encryption protocols or battery efficiency, rather than just general doubts after all anyone could comment and just say "no", or "bs".

That's an interesting point of view. I have to accept responsibility for that though. When we had our first contact, the initial response was short, like a few sentences. I said that I couldn't do a youtube video with a simple statement like that.

@@DoingFedTime - Ah ok, ya it’s not like he said anything that would screw himself over in the long run… that being said, I don’t necessarily like the idea of drone delivery when it comes to darknet products. It’s not something I know too much about (except for this and mental outlaw’s video) but it sounds kind of sketchy to me. I’m really not qualified to speak on it ultimately haha, just my two cents.

What if someone just throws an Airtag into the drone after goods were delivered? And Octopus: if you're operating in Europe, i call BS on you, here is everything so hard monitored - i couldn't even launch a drone. And what they say about their technology is also BS: i worked at the tower of an airport - we can detect EVERYTHING, even 1 cm small particles if wanted. For advanced control over distances you need s signal - and if you want, you can triangulate it, no radar or physical entity needed. Drug drone delivery never works. I will buy something there and report if a drone showed up in Vienna.

I see your point, but drones can operate more or less autonomously by preprogramming a route in them that they follow via gps so you can avoid the radio signal triangulation problem. Then they would have to use passive radar to get the full path of the drone, but you can get on a car, leave the drone half a mile away from target, leave there, go away and have it programmed to start half an hour later after you left, then make it do some random walks here and there in the air to randomize the path too. Still.... Sounds a bit far fetched and too cumbersome, but I am not familiar with "darknet operations".
@noizW

@@migueld2456 Not possible, you can't pro-program a drone. And they said they have a connection to the drone - I just say apple AirTag. What if I put one on the drones, I guess they are not cheap? so no passive radar required ;)

@@migueld2456 As I said, I'll try this service and let me fuck in a gangbang gay porn if a drone comes to my window. I swear! They'll send a drone from Paris to Vienna, sure. And if they operate just in a little area, they can't be that big. BUT: I'm sure they read this here. It would be the coolest thing ever if this would work, but I'm not sure. I textet somewhere else that I worked in an airport tower, and you would be surprised what we could do with the radar-array from the USA.... you can use it like LIDAR if you want... old technology, but there are reasons why passive Radar is used. speculation is fun, what outlaw did was nothing. related: for all we know, everything the octopus saying could also be interpreted as speculative (lying) that s* about saying they have worldwide operations, for all we know, is to just throw us that theyre actually only based in france and also how the heck does someone get "an unwitting" "person/company" to do drone deliveries. anybody have any thoughts??? and why would they disclose theyre a huge operation?? doesnt that paint a bigger target on your back? again, unless youre trying to throw ppl/law enf. off... and seriously what if they got spy satellites, do a control purchase, and can just track the drone through camera from the satellites, like yeah right..untrackable also "encrypted rf frequencies... yeah right..." idk abt france but here in US we have fcc that can pinpoint exactly where a jammer or a foreign interfering frequency is originating from, not to mention the HAARP antennas can prob do the same thing. so again, pinpointing the originating signal is probably ez pz if they *really* wanted to and "undetected drone prison deliveries". seriously? there was like last month, a drone builder got arrested for supplying such drones this purpose. so they can obviously get the ppl that make this drones, so id assume these octapi arent safe idk, at the end of the day its just fun to speculate...

Kudos for providing a platform for Octopus to respond (or basically incorporate his MO rebuttal in an advertisement for his business 😂 if we're being honest). Surpised MO didn't reach out to Octo before making that video though, seems it should be a no-brainer for something like that. 1. Yes my perspective has changed cause for me this means there wasn't rigorous/thorough research on MO's part. 2. Would be out of my depth tryna answer that tbh. 3. Probably would've drafted a much shorter response (cause tbh getting through this long ass powerpoint-type text was rough even though you were narrating it), at most half the size and make it read less like a product description pamphlet at a drone expo, but he knows more about business than me so ...🤷‍♂ But dude definitely gets points for that sales pitch lmao

They watched and controlled my whole life. It was a f...Horror!!! They even sent messages from my phone (they listened what i said and responded with messages which seemed that i have sent myself), they destroyed all my friendships, isolated me, watched entry step i did. They had full control over my systems. Does anyone know how this is possible? Had to buy everything new and i'm still frightened to use a wifi led lamp, or whatever isn't secured. I was in "blocked" mode for nearly a year, i hope it doesn't start again.

These are great points I would also add that dji manufacturers the vast majority of drones around 70% I believe but don't quote me on that. They have a special frequency that allows a device that they have that they issued to law enforcement to immediately intercept and take over the drone. If the drone is not in fact a dji drone then they would have to actually either confuse the drone by issuing amplified signals that override the signals coming from the individual piloting it or they would have to hack into the drone remotely which is going to be considerably more difficult than the former.

There are available solutions like Anduril's Sentry that can track objects within a radius, typically used for border protection. They are even capable of tracking very small birds, as demonstrated in a Mark Rober video, so even fully custom drones are trackable. Im sure that Octopus is aware of this technology, but still it seems more risky than traditional mail drop offs. I am interested to see how it all plays out though. Only time will tell.

Biggest challenge for vendors these days? Market volatility. While every market should be assumed willcrash tomorrow, or already a honeypot. They hardly last a full year these days. Especially for successful sellers. I imagine it being hard to turn down sales but if theres buku money in 'scrow, they should probably wait until it clears. Next, postage. Sourcing postage anonymously probably isnt easy. Most articles on vendor arrests show a distinct tie to either exchanging their crypto without de-anonymizing it, or postage purchased in ways it ties back to them. Lastly, buyer negligence. From what it sounds like, many dont utilize pgp themselves. And FUD has become such common place, many think its wise to send to a vacant property, or change their name. Ive even heard of people not putting a name. Again I imagine turning down money is difficult, but doing anything but denying those transactions probably opens them up to so much possible exposure. My situation years ago was only a very close call thankfully. But certainly close enough i turned my life around and walked away from all of it for good

Postage is an issue. I've heard about guys going into their local post office and paying for 25-30 overnight packages every day and having to have runners going to multiple post offices like this. If you do it once or twice it's not likely to raise too many eyes but people will start wondering what's up if it's a constant thing and they will "accidently" rip open a package.

Hey as someone who hasn't seen the source of video and initially responding to this I have a few thoughts: My qualifications are humanities degree and the use of the dark web a decade ago. That should show that I am not up to date with the latest procedures however I have some questions that I would like clarified if someone would be willing. First off the use of drones is very interesting proposition of illicit delivery. I understand that there are great new models that have big ranges however the fact remains between wind radio and line of sight, it would be quite apparent if there would be multiple delivery drones in any given metro area. I'm not going to address the vocabulary and language of the post back and forth because that is easily falsified. I am concerned however that this is just a point of marketing to course correct as enterprises often battle each other ala PepsiCo and Coca-Cola Co. It does seem unreasonable to paint a larger Target on one's self in an illicit market, unless the scope is to obtain more customers. I say that as being a former dealer over a decade ago. Encrypted radio transmissions is suspicious. I happen to live near several small airports so I understand the heavy regulation that the FAA has in my area. Multiple drones with absolutely trigger an investigation. I have no doubts that drone technology is now at an untraceable level all the way from hardware to firmware 3D printing and selectively design circuit production is available to the average consumer now. Overall I guess this video raised more questions in my head than it actually answered. I'm not attempting to cast doubt upon the claims of octopus, however as someone that was in the market years ago I understand that there is a lot of bluffing and s*** talking that goes back and forth. Maintaining a high and loyal customer base is always forefront in the mind of that style of entrepreneur. These are my random thoughts that I'm using a cell phone with speech to text technology.

What about when law enforcement tries finding the source of the RF device? It seems like too much to be dealing with long term. Same with point 8, their argument is basically just that they are hoping law enforcement wont care. Is that true? Probably. But it's not a great point to be honest. Point 9 is undeterminable, it could very well be that their choices are helping them evade detection. It also could very well be that they are screwing themselves. There is no real way to reach objective truth on this matter. Points 6, 10, 11, 12, 13 aren't very substantial in my opinion and read like they're trying to increase the number of "points" presented as a way to magnify their argument. Some of it being repetitions. I think the other points are objectively correct, at least mostly. Will they be proven correct in the long run? Honestly, I think it would be pretty cool if so. Only time will tell if they are going to be around for years to come.

Yes obviously mentaloutlaw is veered more towards CPM unlike your channel and this is why Octopus was right. I think Mentaloutlaw with the level of knowledge that they have could have done their due diligence and reached out which would've potentially have made an even better video than the one he put out. I really liked his channel but as of a couple of months he has been doing some weird things that made me watch him less and less.

Having the give an address as the customer of a darkweb market ordering physical product is a major downside and if drone delivery allows for the good to be delivered to a neutral place that could allow for a runner to quickly grab it and take off, there could be a benefit but I think it greatly increases the chance that some feds are going to end up being the majority of the people operating the deliveries because they can then get exposure to a ton of legit vendors client base.

Mental Outlaw does seem to take more and more liberties in regards to assumptions about others intentions and abilities. I think it probably comes along with fast growth and the feeling that you must be doing something right and that it's because of your high level proficiency in such topics. Taking into account the time that octopus has been in business without being caught is because it has a good OPSEC. OPSEC is like programming, after implementing an IF we just matter of finding all the possible ELSEs. And I'm guessing with some kind of "probation" like I know parole in the fed system was gotten rid of but Matt Cox for instance still has some post-release rules he needs to follow. Are you not concerned at all about communicating and even taking messages for a federal felon / fugitive actively engaged in a felony criminal conspiracy? Seems like it would either directly break some rules if not laws and almost surely set you up to break some in the future

2:33 the answer you give to why we should care is not an answer. "Why should you care what John Doe has to say? Because it comes from John Doe, straight from the source." is not an argument. Besides it seems your whole video is based upon misunderstanding Mental Outlaw's video. He didn't attack or criticize nobody, he basically just said it's gonna be real hard if not impossible to do this safely, and he is right.
@DoingFedTime
@DoingFedTime Ай бұрын
1st off thank you for taking the time to comment. I disagree with your position though. The argument about John Doe isn't merely about the person but about the credibility and direct source of information, which is a fundamental principle in evaluating any claim.

@@DoingFedTime I get what you're saying, but you asked the wrong rhetorical question in my opinion. If you ask "Why should you care about what he has to say?" I believe you should talk about why the topic should be intriguing, not why the source is credible. Maybe this is a little stupid of me but I believe you should have said something more along the lines of "Why should you trust this man's information?"
@DoingFedTime

I appreciate your feedback, this kind of feedback helps me do better in future videos, so it's not just lip service (like most!). Octopus had a great response in my opinion. I like Mental Outlaw and to his credit, if someone was to take an off the shelf drone to use for nefarious purposes, it wouldn't be long before it's tracked. But obviously we are not talking about casual drone enthusiasts. A bit of a deep dive into the subject reveals what Octopus is conveying. So a bit lazy on Mental Outlaw's side. It is a fascinating (albeit frightening) subject.

If I was a dark net vendor I would be kinda mad that such a large KZbinr with so much grasp didn’t even try to reach out to me and let me know he was going to make a video on my market and post it on KZbin and spreading misinformation to the general public thus hurting our business and image. I watched that video and it did feel to me like he thought they were some amateurs using regular drones to drop off. Obviously they have advanced drones and everything. But if you ask me the whole video is kinda like an ad for octopus. Imagine how many people started using the service just because they saw it on mental outlaws channel. So I guess it’s a double edge sword. It puts the market at risk but is free advertising for more people to join the site.
