Hey man great content. Really one of the most unbiased no bullshit channels I have ever seen. I wish you could create more videos about experimenting and setting up all of the cool services you talk about. If you need any help I would be happy to collaborate (for free obviously). I'm a blockchain dev, exploring now cybersec since some months, with previous experience in Digital Marketing, startups and other shit.

A couple of years back I wouldn't even think such an attack on digital civil rights would be a serious possibility for the EU. Even after the first try has failed they keep pushing (funny coincidence again, we have European Soccer Tournament. I'm sure it's pure coincidence and past timings have nothing to do with this). Clearly there are some powers, LE and intelligence services, that have their own agenda - we haven't elected them even and we don't even know who "THEY" are. I urge everyone to stay alert and to engage actively in activities against it. Inform others. Even if we ignore for one moment that the whole idea is massive bs: the individuals which crucially depend their lifes on secure communication will use other technical options to circumvent state actor surveillance and manipulation. But hey I'm glad they know what they are doing

I have been using Kaspersky for 9 years on all my PC and phone. why? BECAUSE THEY ARE THE BEST. with that said, i will be replacing it with a company that is NOT from the US. same with my next CPU cooler since they banned Deepcool i will be buying from another country as well and i say that as an American.

I hear you, but it’s worth noting that Kaspersky has consistently denied those allegations and has never been conclusively proven guilty of such activities. Sometimes, public perception outweighs facts, unfortunately.

Kaspersky don't give the US intelligence and Feds a free pass for their spyware... they got every other antivirus company in their pocket and cooperating with them... EVERY SINGLE LAST ONE OF THEM except Kaspersky... hence they banned them. this is the only reason. and for Kaspersky's education... they are ignoring all the former unit 8200 who basically control every cybersecurity company in the USA? it is foreign intelligence agency after all xD xD HYPOCRICY AT ITS BEST....

You've hit the nail on the head. The ban does seem driven more by geopolitical maneuvering than by clear-cut evidence. It’s a classic case of protecting interests under the guise of security. Your point on the intelligence agencies is spot on.

Knowing its a russian based company in cold war 2, ill bet anything there is allegiance sworn, willing or unwilling. Even if it wasnt intended as such, it was absolutely banned because of known espionage and we dont have to publically prove shit when that happens because theyre not american citizens. I know youre biased against government in general, but using von braun as an example is dead wrong because prewar germany was wholly destroyed and he was not a nazi, he was a rocket scientist. If he was a nazi, then snowden is kgb because neither wanted any labels but they were thrust upon them and diddo for kaspersky. I dont think youre willing to make that parallel. That's like calling you a skinhead because youre white and went to prison; its just not true.

1st off, thank you for taking the time to share your perspective, I do appreciate it - I've learned a ton from people like you who have actually taken the time to give there side. I appreciate your perspective, but I think the comparison holds when you consider the principle of pragmatism in both cases. The US leveraged expertise from controversial figures like von Braun for national gain, overlooking their pasts. Similarly, dismissing Kaspersky solely based on its founder’s education without concrete evidence of wrongdoing seems like a double standard. Thanks for the thoughtful input!

The same they did with Huawei, USA deserves to have all the trades cancelled by all these victim countries. 90% of the products in USA come from China, let's see how their economy will be without cheap products from the east and without cheap labor for the big tech.

The Huawei situation definitely set a precedent. It’ll be interesting to see how these trade bans evolve. You're right; a lot of US production depends on international supply chains. Let's see how this plays out.

I can’t be the only one that questions the US’s motivations for supporting Ukraine in attacking Russia. It’s one step before full court press… Ukraine isn’t what they say they are. Their leader, Zelensky? Is, quite literally, an actor put into power by the US and friends. Don’t trust mainstream media’s opinion on Putin. He’s no saint, but he isn’t as terrible as they make him out to be. I don’t stand with Russia, but I definitely don’t stand with Ukraine. The US’s propaganda is top tier nonsense. Don’t believe me? Check out the somewhat recent update on the Smith-Mundt act. They legalized propaganda inside the US. The government runs the news networks.
@DoingFedTime
@DoingFedTime 2 күн бұрын
I understand your skepticism about US motivations and media portrayal. The geopolitical landscape is complex, and it's important to question narratives from all sides. The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act definitely complicates the media landscape by allowing government-produced content domestically. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Kaspersky received a SOC TYPE II certification, pretty tough to achieve, plus in order to get that the sheer number of tests by various labs/institutes/corps and code review is so thorough... in fact research it. No, the reason it got banned is likely related to Pegasys or maybe MS for example want to release some new 'features' and those 'features' are NOT to spy on users... they did not even give a justifiable reason for the ban... Got banned on the 'threat to national security.... go to excuse' pretty much like TT. I don't use it, I use Linux and it would do me no good anyhow since every reboot is pretty much a reinstall. I mean, there could be any number of reasons, but given that not even the home user may have it installed... makes you wonder. Look I am not American, but they will likely 'negotiate' with Bitfender/Trend/Sophos/etc and NOT tell them 'look we want to do this or that'... Alas, have we not heard from Snowden that spying on citizens is NOT something the US G will ever do?? just a thought, fiction,
@DoingFedTime

Great point about the SOC TYPE II certification-it's a rigorous standard. The ban does seem more about geopolitical maneuvering than actual security concerns

@@DoingFedTime Thanks for the reply, it seems that they might have a darker objective to me at least, see, most do not understand how these classifications work work, if they did they would not this slip, in the US companies are bound by laws and regulations and so I do make use oversight committees that based in the US because of this, not because of anything else. They are not to blame. given how long I have been doing this, know how some G's make use Deceptive Warning and Indicators, what will likely follow is some kind of Win/OSX rollout whether it is in the form of an update or new version. Since they cannot negotiate with partners in terms of might very well be akin to Pegasus-like functionality or something a long those lines, Kaspersky is not even a Russian 'state asset' or company but Swiss they do have ties Russia but Kaspersky have equally been effective against threats from Russia. However, this is just a guess. regardless, due to the mentioned certification (there is more though) the US G cannot simply banned this in terms of allegations, but likely will and we are dealing with security, this is not a trivial matter. My guess is they will like recommend Bitfender since Bitfender is remarkably close to Kaspersky, again this this is confirmed by the same 'companies'. I may not be American but if you are part of this cybersecurity community this should not matter, Bitfender might be suitable for most but I have yet to go through their corporate solutions, since trying to figure out the true reason or waiting a report with the required preponderance of evidence to that factually (redacted or not) may not even be the case and thus the quicker those helping, help to secure the entire landscape the better. Those who do this for a living know the existential risks. Trouble with Security Analysts and many other 'labels' they are too slow, not this is not my domain of expertise since I deal more with cases regarding tracking, fraud, scams and end-to-end, after all, I work for myself, so I can only do that much at any given time. Thanks for the response

Really love your videos dude. Only issue I think is the lack of sound in your videos. You have some cool transitions but there's something off about seeing them with no sounds or music. It makes videos more interesting, just some advice. The ban on Kaspersky is very confusing, considering that the ban had no real proof to present. Just some russian ties, which we've never had a problem with before. But going over Kaspersky's portfolio, they do a lot more than provide a anti-virus. If that's all they did, I'd believe it more. But their public research says otherwise, along with the fact that they provide training to teach analysts how to get better. If they were out to get the U.S. I feel like we'd see a lot of shady business trails from them like shell company ties and whatnot.
