Perfect authentic Portuguese recipe and ingredients. Only thing I would change is, use red wine instead of white. Also drop in a clove or two if you like. Great job!

I think most Portuguese people don't add cinnamon or thyme and we cook it in pressure cooker 25 min and octopus is done then you add potatoes and 10 minutes it's done ...plus it's easier to cut octopus white it's still thawing ....it can get slippery
@mariajbrum3 жыл бұрын
So true and what you said and especially never ever cinnamon cinnamon changes the consistency in the taste of everything when it goes into different temperatures
@ashbyt16 жыл бұрын
Could you use yellow rice instead of the potatoes? Great video.
@kenneth44175 жыл бұрын
the rice will take all the liquid and will not come good , the rice add it in the plate and put the stew on top

You cooked too long time: 1h+20min+15min =1:30 h. Is this still good if you cook that long ?
@kenneth44175 жыл бұрын
the more you cook it the more it comes tender but he could had boild it for 20 mins before and lower the cooking time

Has a portuguese thats the secret to tender octupus, that our cooking it in a presdure pan on only water fot about 30 mints
@kenneth44175 жыл бұрын
boil the octopus before you add it to the stew for 20 mins and you dont need to cook it for 1 hr before adding the potato and you can add some small cut carrots black olives bay leaves and at last 10 mins coocking add some peas
