What did you use to reset your PJIC? Did you buy the exact epson Pjic resetter or just a generic 7pin epson resetteR?

Thanks for contacting us about the Epson label printer model Colorworks C4000 - as it is is model from 2022 todays´status (November 7th 2022) is that there is no suitable resetter available yet. At the moment we do ot know if and when there will be a resetter solution available.

Is it possible to buy individual colors rather than a 4 color set? In my experience I go (rough estimate) through 3 cartridges of yellow versus 2 of Cyan & Magenta and only 1 black.

Can one use a 60 cc syringe to fill the total amount of ink required in one step rather than two steps with the smaller syringe

Hello Mike, thanks for that question. Of course You can do so. You can fill the total amount with one filling as long as the volume of the used syringe is sufficient. We have worked with the smaller syringe as we have modular kits with these syringes readymade available which we use to compile refill kits specifically for certain cartridges. The smaller syringes are also more easy to pack and ship :)

OctopusConcept Hi, I followed these steps but one side of the cartridge i cannot seem to fill up although i can extract the ink! i tried it with 2 cartridge ans both them one side doesnt fill up! any help will be appreciated. thanks

Hello, thanks for the question. What we can think of is that it is really important to extract the air plus ink out of the cartridge from both sides before bringing in the new ink. As the bag has no other connection to the outside world as the ink port You can not fill in new ink as long as there is air and / or ink inside this bag. There might be still residual ink in the chamber that does not take in any new ink.

OctopusConcept hi thanks for the reply. i literally sucked evrything out of the bag with the syringe on both sides and reattempted its only on one side the ink cannot be injected in. i tried with the black and blue cartridge same results on bother cartrige. i dont have the tapered tip...... using the syringes leur slip could it be coz of that?..... but i can with draw the ink from both sides and done it from two separate cartridge. so i dont think its the tip?. maybe they changed the cartridges? thanks for the help.

If You are working with the syringe only without any additional tip the syringe´s slip part might be too short to open the valve in the ink port correctly for bringing in the ink. In the other direction, sucking out the ink, the short slip is not a problem, this might be the explanation.

@@octopusoffice I think epson may have implemented a one way valve. I found your video looking for a solution because I have been refilling my old C3500 cartridges using this same method using a pointed nozzle for years but I just tried to refill a set of cartridges purchased this year, and the ink can be extracted but the valve doesn't allow for ink to be injected in. Hopefully there is a solution to this.

UPDATE: There is no anti-refill valve. I opened up the cartridge and what appears to have happened is that when I extracted the ink the foil bag vacuumed in a way that was blocking the hole for the ink to flow through. I believe if I had forced harder if may have worked. I tried some other cartridges from the same batch and they refilled with no issue!

Im confused, If I do the math Octopus ink cost more than Epson original ink? unless the SJIC22P OEM Ink doesn't com default 32ml per cartridge set/catridge? please help

Thanks for Your question? In our perception the Octopus solution is not more expensive than the Epson OEM ink. A set of original cartridges, each cartridge contains 32 ml ink, costs around 130 EUR at the moment. Our set of 4 x 100 ml pigmented refill ink is 100 EUR - with this amount You can refill each cartridge three times - this brings down the price for a full set of cartridges to 34 EUR on the ink side. When adding up the savings: costs for three sets of OEM cartridges -> 3 x 130 EUR = 390 EUR cost for three sets of refilled cartridges = 100 EUR You still need the resetter when refilling the cartridges - but its price is also covered by the savings. And it still works when You ordering the next batch of refill inks. We hope that explains our solution a bit better.

Hello Alexander, thanks for Your question. As long as the chip is intact You can set it back as often as needed. The life span of the chip can be maxinized by following some simple rules when handling chip: Avoid to touch the chip directly - avoid electrical discharges.

Thanks for the question. Actually on these cartrides the chip is the limitation - as long as You treat it very careful and keep it intact the cartridge will work. The ink bag inside the cartridges there is actually never any air inside - so there will be no drying out inside as the seal in the ink port is air tight.

As a chip resetting device is available from a reliable supplier BUT we do not have the suitable inks ready yet (status per November 23rd 2020) - the machine is quite expensive so a non matching ink is not going to provide much advantage to You. As soon as we can provide a fill solution we will take the product online and communicate about it here too.

The cartridge system of the EPSON TM C 3400 is different from the one used in TM C 3500. The main difference is the combination cartridge for the colors cyan, magenta nd yellow - the TM C 3500 label printer has a separate cartridge for each color. Really important when refilling Epson cartridges is to have the suitable chip resetter available - an Epson printer usually does not allow You to keep on printing with an cartridge that has the ink level status empty. Long story short: we have not tested the Epson TM C 3400 and cannot say if our shown method works for this printer too.

Hello Lesley, thanks for your questions. Before filling in the new ink it is important to take out the remaining ink and also to extract the air from the ink bags as good as possible. If You press the new ink into an ink bag still containing air - pressure is build up and this presses the new ink out of the cartridge again. Does the ink spill out again from both ink ports? What kind of tool have You used to fill in the new ink? Please be very careful and do not damage the rubber sealing in the ink ports.

Hello Lesley, after fixing the ink spill - try to set back the refilled cartridge into the printer after trying to reset it - even if the LED might have stayed red. We also needed a couple of attempts to get the reset done.

Thanks for Your question. There is a special resetter for the chip on the maintenance box available on the market. But the ones we found are very pricy and cleaning out the box is quite messy - in our opinion its a good solution to invest in a new box rather than into the resetter for the box - as we said ourt opinion - no offence 😊

when the printer costs me $3000, it is frightening to have the ink ports get dirtied or damaged. i have tried such methods for my ink jet desktop printer and there was always some kind of mess and it spoils the print head

Do you think this refill will work for Epson Discproducer Ink cartridges? They look EXACTLY the same and hey hold 32ml of ink as well. but there are 6 different colors. The cartridge numbers are: C13S020447, C13S020448, C13S020449, C13S020450, C13S020451 and C13S020452 They also have another cartridge name of: PJIC1-C, PJIC6-K, PJIC2, PJIC3, PJIC4, PJIC5-Y

Hello Jim, thank You very much for Your question. Bringing new ink into the cartridge is only one part of the full refill job. So we have not tested the Epson Discproducer cartridges. If they have the same physical appearance as the cartridges in our video it might be that the same way works to get new printer ink into them. As said before the method is one thing - Youalso need to have the suitable chip resetter for Your cartridges and a refill ink that works for Your printer´s print head.
