@@w2385-i2s Hi, Why? I already made a video about the AG02 Thunderbolt Vs Oculink.,The TishRic 40GB/s was giving me a better host to device connection speed than the Aoostar Thunderbolt

Great comparison! I used a TB3 eGPU in 2017 and performance was pretty good everywhere but then I built a gaming PC. Returned to TB3 in 2024 and found that some games tank performance like Forza Horizon 5 here while others are OK, just a bit slower like CP2077 and GOW. Got an Oculink PCIe4 x4 as a fun tester and it delivers consistent performance in all games unlike like TB3 (Hogwarts Legacy and others). Good to know NVMe is just as good as Oculink.

Yes, you are correct, it all depend of the game, some games will take advantages of the 64GB/s Oculink data transfer speed and will deliver more FPS at the exit point, but some less demanding games will do just fine with the 40GB/s Thunderbolt speed.

We can clearly see at 2:35, you only powered two 8pins of 4080. Did you later powered the 3rd 8pin before running the test? Or left the 3rd 8pin unpowered?

If the Oculink dock also used thunderbolt why put it through nvme adapter that might introduce variation? or did you try both and the one you used was better? As you mentioned nvme was showing dipping variation 1% lows might be helpful to show that for comparison.
@Ghost-Keyboard
@Ghost-Keyboard 2 ай бұрын
@@anthonylipke7754 Yes, you are correct i could have used the AG02 Aoostar Thunderbolt port as on paper it has one less layer to connect to PCIE, however CUDA Z shown that data transfer speed of the 2 set-up are very, very close. But yes it would be a good idea to compare the Performances of both Thinderbolt eGPU set-up 👍

What happens if I use m.2 oculink adapter on a laptop that has a dgpu, will it automatically overwrite the dgpu?
@Ghost-Keyboard
@Ghost-Keyboard 2 ай бұрын
@@coolchews08 No, it won t, you must select the desired GPU (eGPU) in Windows "Device Manager" in the "Display Monitor" option and possibly disable your dGPU or even uninstall the drivers of your dGPU, in some case you won t have to uninstall your dGPU drivers. Usually you will have to uninstall your dGPU drivers if its an AMD eGPU and your GPU running on the eGPU is sn NVIDIA GPU, there is no one way to correctly set up your eGPU but several ways.

@@asimsabir Hi, PCIE 3 will indeed get you more performance loss but not only your CPU is Zen 2 and is DDR4 RAM which will also get you more performance loss compared to Zen 3 DDR5 at with higher frequency, i don t have any idea of the performance loss percentage with Zen 2 PCIE 3 CPU with an Oculink/NVME M2/Thunderbolt eGPU. Will it work? Yes absolutely! but you will have more performance loss than with Zen 3 PCIE 4 set-up, but as your GPU is a Powerful RTX 4060 which support DLSS3, you can expect huge performance gain with high setting gameplay at 1080P or 1440O with AAA games, in other words an eGPU set up for you is a good option. About the Tutorial, i made several tutorial on eGPU, if you watch my videos you will find all the steps needed for successfully set up your eGPU. Actualy i have scheduled videos, i will make new tutorial eventualy if i get a new eGPU, Thanks you for your comment

It'll be nice if you put the new device which is I have it's called the Lenovo Legion go because for me it has U USB4 port which is made a contrast for 40 gigs of bandwidth means I can connect it to my EGPU so that'd be nice if you get a type handled which is the Lenovo Legion go just to Test the new Handheld

Privet, kak dila droug 😊 I have just received the GMKtech K8 Plus with the 8845HS a few hours ago, so my next publication will be the review of the K8 with an Oculink eGPU, unfortunately i am not into laptop review so i don t think i will be able to review the Legion Go any time soon. About Thunderbolt eGPU working on your laptop, if you have a USB 4 port then there is a high probability that it support Thunderbolt as you told me that your transfer speed is 40 GB/s, i don t see any reason why a Thunderbolt eGPU wouldn t work with the Legion Go. Have fun and a nice week end RussianGamerPro 😊

@Ghost-Keyboard Ай бұрын
@@jaskier5586 Hi, Thunderbolt is a protocol that is build with USB 4, All Thunderbolt Connection are USB 4 but not all USB 4 support Thunderbolt, but in a very large number USB 4 support Thunderbolt 4 which is under Intel License. No Thunderbolt can not match an NVME speed as Thunderbolt is 40GB/s data transfer speed and NVME is 64GB/s speed, however as you have seen in my test Thunderbolt in the majority of games will not be that far from NVME type and is still a very good option to upgrade your system graphic performances.
