If they made it so that this could be connected to a PC with USB or Wifi (which they could have very easily done considering Rift Cat does the same thing with the Gear VR), they would have been onto a total winner. It would have still been limited in contrast with the Rift being as there is no positional tracking but at least you could have had the option to take it on the move or plug it in for extra juice when you want to do some better gaming.

I have PS VR and I love the concept of VR games and really don't want to play anything else. But now when I'm over the "honeymoon" of VR I find the limitations in graphics the most annoying. The 3D worlds look all cool when you watch it on a screen but when you are "inside the game" you really see the texture overlays looks more like cardboard models.

Oculus Go seems underrated, don't take my word for it--I haven't got it yet--but upon further investigation it seems SUPER worth it, even comparable to its more pricey counterparts. It looks cheap and not so worth it at first, but it has a growing library of some critically acclaimed games, and if you're okay with not having the completely fastest graphics ever you can try things like AltSpaceVR, which is basically as close as you can get to a real-life Oasis right now. It's at least worth a shot.

People think this is a high end vr headset and they say things like "get a dell visor, or ps vr" Which is actually a stupid comparison because You need a decent PC or you need a ps4 and a ps4 $250, and a PC to run will be atleast $600 for a used laptop to run it at decent settings. It's not supposed to compare to those headsets, it's a portable cheap VR headset. PORTABLE, unlike the headsets you guys keep yelling about.

they should do what the daydream headset did and offer inside out tracking... lack of positional tracking makes it more nauseating and less immersive. Combine that with a controller(s) tracked by the headset like WMR and you got yourself the best headset...

What does the inside look like? I purchased the gear Vr but was extremely disappointed as the lenses are really bad. Text get those blue/yellow shadowing and the sides are blurry unless you look at them.

Prexto Rex Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold on there just a sec. It's not the Gear VR's fault. Your experience is limited by the phone you use. The Gear VR's lenses are great! In fact, there are Vive and even Vive Pro users replacing their stock lenses with lenses from the Gear VR due to them being sharper and having a bigger sweet spot.

That blue/yellow "shadowing" you were referring too is called Chromatic Abberation. "the material effect produced by the refraction of different wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation through slightly different angles, resulting in a failure to focus. It causes colored fringes in the images produced by uncorrected lenses." So you're either wearing the Gear VR too high, too low, at an angle, not focused properly or a combination of all of that.

You could wait a few more months for Oculus Quest, in my opinion Quest is better than LMS. Oculus Go is still a good option but the lack of 3dof is a deciding factor for total imersion, but still is always about how much money you are willing to spend. Go and Quest are good trusted quality options.

good thing about Go is that you don't have to stand up and play games after hard day at work. Someday i just don't feel like to use Vive because im tire at work but I can use Go in my bed or couch when im tire or lazy. Watching videos on movie theater screen in vr is already worth spending and you also can play 2d pc games with Bigscreen while you are lying on the bed with gamepad controller. You can play all the 2d games in 3d using Tridef 3d too.

Bullshit! Don't spread false info. What are the specs of your rig that you ran the Rift on? All of the games I play look super sharp. Mainly cause I super sample but other than that, game's look great. If you want higher resolution, get a Vive Pro, Odessey, or a Pimax 8K. Just be sure your rig can handle it.

I turned on supersampling with my 1080 Ti and also sold mine and bought a wmr headset. The oculus and the vive was a bit 2 blurry for me and upgrading to a wmr headset with a higher resolution fixed that a tiny bit

Just a point of clarification. When you say "half the price of the Oculus Rift", you are assuming that people have a gaming (or high enough end) PC to hook it to. The last actual PC I bought had an AMD1800 in it. It actually finally died last month. :-) I do have a low end laptop and some Kindles. Don't even have a PS4. And I don't think I'm alone there... So for some people, a Rift, Vive or even the WMR devices will still require even more of a purchase than just the headsets. So I think there is a decent size possible audience there for this product, as well as people who have higher end systems, but might want something like this as a more portable version... I haven't decided if I will get one, but I am watching the reviews closely.

ok i guess you are wrong about $60 more to play skyrim vr with Lenovo. its actually $60 more plus $1000 pc but Go is stand alone vr headset

What controllers would you need to play games? I've only used VR headsets that use your phone (and the PSVR at one of my friend's house), so is this worth it? Can you use it while charging?

Easay9 Games Not available in Europe yet so I chose the one which I prefer out of the ones I have used. I would like to try it but the dell is my favourite so far. Its a matter of preference really (unless you are bitching about the headphone situation cause you can fuck off if that is how you judge the quality of a vr headset. The explorer also suffers a lot of light bleed from what I have heard but I like to try thing myself.

The 821 was a troubled SoC. I recognise that it's a powerful SoC that is now cheap, but I'm not sure it's a good choice. The main problem I can see having is the one controller. It severely limits what you can do, but is something they could fairly easily fix.
