It is a one of the few OP Devil Fruits, but I am thinking the NIka Devil Fruit tops her's. From the reasoning on why the Giant Robot can no longer find Joy Boy because Luffy is not in Gear 5, means only one thing; Joy Boy was in Gear 5 all the time; meaning Luffy can stay in Gear 5 if he knew how to do it. Luffy is doing something wrong when activating Gear 5. For example: Doflamingo did not have the same problem when using his awakening form and could possibly go in and out or stay in it for a long long time. Luffy is not using Gear 5 effectively like he should be. So, he is doing something wrong when using it.

Sounds to me, that Joy Boy was in Gear 5 all the time; so Luffy is not making full use of the Nika Devil Fruit. This means that Luffy can stay in Gear 5 forever if he wanted to, judging how the Giant Robot only hears Joy Boy when Luffy is in Gear 5. The shorting of life with Gears, I think Lucci got it wrong. Lucci believed that Luffy had the Gum Gum Fruit, not the Nika Fruit. I am thinking it is very different with the Nika Fruit. But generally speaking, these sorts of random power-ups(which are so common in bad writing that it's almost a meme) are done to create a bridge between the point we are at now, and the point we need to be. It's really not the best way to tell a story, but we have a situation where the One Piece world has become too big, there is an anime that keeps chasing Oda and is right on its tail, and his own health issues, all of it making it super hard to do more than what he is doing right now. I honestly believe what we are getting now is quite amazing and we will just have to deal with it. We can't have our cake and eat it too.

I think it be a toss up between the Soul Soul Fruit, the Hobby Hobby Fruit, the Shadow Shadow Fruit, and the Age Age Fruit in terms of broken abilities. One messes with your soul and lifespan which had to be nerfed during the last arc due to how ridiculous versatile it was. One turns you into a toy and you also end up being forgotten until the user of the fruit is out cold (which is difficult to do without being taken out by their bodyguard or turned into a toy and forced to work under the user). One can take your shadow and you're forced to forever hide in the dark since if you go, so does your shadow (a one hit kill if ever there was one). And finally we have this one where if you believe in a certain future you can turn into that future self or de-age/turn old anyone you touched for a set of time (and that's not including how you can cause someone to see their death).

i think gear 5 has no limit, remember when he first activate it he was at his limit after fighting kaido, he didn't need 10 mins to recharge his haki... i guess it all based on his will to fight... hunger might only be his weakness...when he fight CP0 he had "pocket meat" at prison he ate the all the red soup, during his fight with kaido he took break and eat😅as long as there is food, I don't think Luffy can reach his limit😂😂

Oda foreshadowed this moment since she punched Kalifa. Did it again in chapter 1104 when she tried to punch Saturn like Nika and it didn't work, he explained that she nee that name but never saw him, then in chapter 1107 when G5 Luffy said he saw her punch, called it weak and taught her how to do it. . Theory: Imu isn't causing the ocean to rise, Joyboy is. Luffy first used JB power against Kaido, around the same time Imu coincidentally used the weapon. The drums played, and shortly after, the water rose. Luffy used it here, and towards the end of chapter, the drums play, and the water rises. How could Imu raise the water if they are out of Mother Flame? Vegapunk said it was hard to say who was good and evil. How can you say that when it's so one sided? Unless Imu is trying to SAVE the world from Joyboy, and is one of those "at any cost" villains. Luffy used the drums in 2 sessions, Wano and Egghead, and the water has risen twice, around the time of each session. When did the water rise 200 meters? Hundreds of years ago when THE WHOLE WORLD UNITED TO STOP JOYBOY! I'm not saying Imu's good. Vegapunk said it was hard to say who to cheer for, the person ruining the world, or the person flooding it trying to stop that.

luffy's life hasnt been shortened at all since pre-time skip gear 2 used to have the side effect of straining luffys heart due to unnaturally increased blood flow/pressure, which shortened his life, and exhausted him, this hasnt happened at all post time skip gear 3 used to have the side effect of making luffy small and weak after usage, never was it stated to reduce his lifespan, gear 3rds side effect is also no longer present post time skip gear 4 has the side effect of exhausting luffy and preventing him from using haki for 10 minutes after usage, its unclear whether or not gear 4 reduces his lifespan gear 5th has the side effect of taking the energy out of luffy really quickly, which is represented by him becoming an old man after using gear 5th, just like a cartoon, again its unclear whether or not gear 5th reduces his lifespan either way, through what weve seen oda draw, luffy will live to be atleast 60, hes gonna become the pirate king long before that happens

There is a possibility that Bonney turning into Nika Form may or may not be her fruit ability but actually Luffy's. Remember what Gorosei said Luffy fruit is so powerful that he can do anything with it he just needs to imagine & Before Bonney turns into Nika form Luffy said it to her that I dont know how your Devil fruit ability works but I know you got this. I think Atlas and Lilith both are gonna make it. So that Lilith goes with Luffy and Atlas meets up with Dragon. I feel like each group needs a Vegapunk.
