Herb Ellis guitarist / composer (1921-2010) worked for many years with the pianist Oscar Peterson`s trio. with tenor Ben Webster and Stan Getz as well as trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie and singer Ella Fitzgerald. In 1948, Ellis wrote "Detour Ahead" with Johny Figo and Lou Carter.
