The subdial is what makes this watch special! Isn't there a miyota 9,000 series movement That has a subdial? That one would probably be way too expensive as it's not a common movement.

Well, Vacheron didn't bother with hacking in their movement either so I can't hold this against Baltany or Segull at the price point.

I think it's beautiful. I think the idea of the canted dial is that you are supposed to wear the watch head on the inside of your wrist while driving.

I would have liked blued numbers to match the second hand, curved strap pins, and a good quartz movement. I know I will get one of these with the Miyota movement, but having those three things would have meant immediate buy rather than "wait for a really good sale" buy. My Chinese watch collection is turning into a Baltany collection.

I have this exact piece. Gorgeous. Crazy sense of quality at the price and something different in a wider collection. Sits very comfortably next to Grand Seiko, Omega and the like in my watch box. I set time by the minute hand so hacking means nought, same like the original, my Peseux 7001 and many others.

Good review 👍. I agree, all the hands should be blued (my preference) or silver. I know I am a Philistine, but the wonky dial is stupid and it really annoys me that the 60 seconds marking is aligned with the case and not with the rest of the dial, VC got it wrong! If Baltany make this with a conventionally aligned dial, I would buy it, I love the case design/strap/dial and hands.

Great review, not having a spare $54,000, I opted for the automatic and have not regretted it. Baltany have yet again showed that they are producing amazing quality watches for a stunning price...onward and upward!!

The watch is very nicely done, love that dial colour. But aren't thr basic Seagull movements quite noisy with a gritty winding action? All the hands should be blued in my opinion as blue goes very well with salmon.

It's 38mm but the case is square, which usually wear big. I suspect this might fit like a 42mm, maybe? Can anyone confirm this?

I will get the watch on my birthday the 7th of December but my gf has it already and she says it is stunning! Please note and to my mind not a small detail the watch is made in HONG KONG which is an island with a very long tradition of making watches, they are freaks and have real feeling for this trade. Baltany is stunning with amazing crystals, finishing, polishing and looks. They are the best on the market today in my opinion and the movement is a workhorse movement with good credentials.

They sent mine with a different, far interior leather band.... Doesn't look nearly as good. Plasticky looking finish... Lighter tan... no rich, warm brown tones... Different stiching...a little squeaky... It looks cheaper than it probably is... Not very much padding ...It's not cardboard leather but it doesn't look good. Looks like it should be more cardboardy than it actually is... Pretty disappointed. Not at all passible

I love the case dial and handset... Making a version of this with the traditional 12 on top orientation, And I'm totally in. I have no desire to wear my watch on the inside of my wrist... Or to try to reorient how I read my watch. Besides that I love this thing. I really do want a more traditional version of this!
