I don't where you are getting that price from... As it's currently €360. During the sales it was even less. If you want to grab a lower spec'd, worse made watch and pay a premium just for the name, than be my guest.

My only watch with a bracelet. Aventurine dial, no date. +16s per day which for me is a bit on the high value, not sure if it is high enough to go to some watchmaker to regulate it.

Mine was running about. +20spd. It took me a couple of minutes to regulate it, but agree it should have been better on arrival. That said, it was within spec

These watches that bridge the gap between a GADA/sports watch and a proper dive watch seem increasingly popular and I can see why. The Miyota 9 series movements are ideal, because they reduce the thickness that is the weak point of most divers. My only criticism of this is the bezel is a little thick, if it sloped down to the outer edge it would make the watch even more cuff friendly.

Faux dive style watches really because they don't meet the ISO certification for diving. Eventually we'll have to hit peak dive style watch in the community. I love a dive style as much as the next guy but it's getting a bit ridiculous now. There is only so much supply the market can reasonably expect to absorb, right? 🤷♂️

The ISO rating means very little. The SKX was ISO certified, but had a crap bracelet, a crap bezel, mineral crystal, and an awful movement. The Delphinus is a dress diver that is beautifully made and well spec'd

@@watchalot919 I'd be very surprised to see anyone diving with such a watch. Nowadays everyone has a diving computer to keep the long term saturation calculated. Such computers are significantly bigger = easier to read under water and more bulky = not suitable to wear outside of diving day.

Actually not a meca-quartz movement, but who cares. I guess 40mm version is asking for 7"+ wrist because of straight lugs increasing horizontal area of a case. I like Chinese manufacturers for doing wide array of sub-40mm watches.

@@adk7962 Yeah, it's really impressive isn't it? Having the 9000 series movements allows you to have slimmer cases, as well as the hi-beat rate too. That would be interesting to see. I'm not sure whether they actually would do that though.

I appreciate that you took it out in the light and showed the dial's glittery, automotive paint, look. Watch brands really don't know how to take pictures or videos that really showcase their watches. They leave it up to reviewers like you.

I've been looking for this style of watch but I think it's too big for my 6.5 inch wrist. These square shaped watches fit very big on the wrist as I've handled those before. A lug to lug of less than 44mm is what I'm looking for..

Merkur is certainly upping their ante. that rice beads bracelet matches the pretty dial. Cross in the middle of the dial almost reminded me the Tissot Gentleman - Green dial. thanks for a nice review mate!, it looks lovely on your wrist (that shape and dial with that bracelet makes it look very rich)

@@zillsburyy1I had one of these movements that failed too, never again. I fitted a vh31 in my watch, told Merkur it fits and they never replied. They could be making all the money Addiesdive/Militado/Escapement time etc are making.

Tongji movements are a crapshoot. You can build a beautiful case around it, but you're essentially polishing a turd. 4:39 My long time experience with this movement is a failure rate of about 30%.

@@hvrijsse The one I had felt horrible to wind, the minute hand moved pushing the crown back in after setting and after three months it became wildly inaccurate with amplitude about 150°. I stripped it lubricated it, got the amplitude to 240°, but there was 80 seconds difference in the rate dial up/down 🤣. I decided there was something horribly wrong with the balance assembly, chucked it and installed a vh31. I'll never buy this movement again.
