Is the lee single stage classic a good press to start with? I'll just be loading .40 cal at first. Should I buy the press separate or just get the kit? I'd really appreciate your input bc it's something I believe I can make a living on eventually. If not I'll just end up shooting alot which will make me feel better about working a 9 to 5

@@anthonysmith3132 don't forget. Never try to push it too hot. If you want more power buy a bigger caliber. And if you want to reload for a living you will eventually need to move up to a progressive press. Take care and please be safe. Not all scales are equal so always start at the low end and work your way up. You can buy a cheap chronograph for under 100 bucks. That's how I went. I hope everything works out for you.

OMG, I thought ammo was expensive up here in Alaska, but you guys have us beat by a lot! Luckily, I have all the ammo I need for the rest of my life, after decades of building up my supplies, as long as I don't waste. I just gave away two boxes of .308 Remington Corelokt, to a buddy, because he couldn't find anything for our opening caribou hunt, and the price, sticker tags were still on them which where just over $12. Funny thing is, I remember thinking that was expensive at the time I bought them.

It's always great to do the right thing and support our Mom and Pop gun stores. Whenever I go in to a store like that I make sure to buy something. We need to keep these places in business. The customer service and relationships at smaller gun stores are simply phenomenal. There was no doubt that you take care of those stores Adam. No matter how fancy you get on KZbin (just kidding) you're still a good 'ol boy and we appreciate you man. I've seen better prices on some ammo online and that includes free shipping for certain calibers. You may want to check out some online stores for ammo, even with shipping there are a few places with better pricing. No matter where you go you will have to pay tax so only the shipping charges (if any) make a difference. Stay safe. 👍

You need them to keep your channel going. All the rest of us? Leave that high price stuff on the shelf! Was in Clarksville, TN last week. Plenty of ammo and reloading supplies (except primers). All of it ridiculously high. Was there again, yesterday. All that high priced stuff was still on the shelves. Win win for we the un-washed masses. Longer it sits, the sooner prices come back down to normal. If we let it sit long enough they’ll have to start having “sales”. This isn’t my first shortage. I’m not a young’un. These sales are when I stock up. My shooting hasn’t slowed down any during this shortage. And brother, I shoot A LOT. Don’t pay a dollar a round for steel cased 9x19. Save that dollar, and more dollars, for another year. 9x19 will be 12 cents each for brass cased quality Ammo. When that happens, stack it deep! I haven’t paid more than 2 cents per round for 22lr, 10 cents for 9x19, 60 cents for Rem Core 30-06, etc etc in over 10 years. And usually with free shipping. That was all the way up to 2019 election. Wait! Buy it cheap, stack it deep! Ride out the next shortage in style!

As usual, great video, very useful information on the ammo prices. I went to the range today with one of my buddies, and we shot some 22LR, 9mm, and then he switched to his AR15 and I went to my Mini 14. Between both of us we shot close to 600 rounds total, and we almost cried after that, considering the prices of the ammo. But, if you are planning to use your firearms at some point to protect your family, the price of practice ammo shouldn't become an issue.

Bought most of my 22 stash when the bulk packs were 550 rounds for under $10. The range I shot on growing up there were a lot of fellows just a little older than I was who would bring out ammo that looked like it was bought during the depression and had crazy low prices hand written on the box. As they would finish one of they would occasionally thank the relative/neighbor who had purchased that ammo decades before, that was no longer with us. Every time my son wants to go to the range and just blow through a bunch of ammo, I tell let's take our time and enjoy the day and make every shot count, because this is your inheritance and I want you to be able to share it with your children as they are growing up.

I went to a local Dunhams Sporting goods, last week. They had plenty of ammo. And then I saw why. It was all very high priced. I passed on a box of 350 Legend, and 9mm because it was $36.00 / box. They can keep it for that price! Although they did have .50 BMG ammo. But I don't have that gun. And that stuff was like $9.00 / round.

You can order federal ammunition straight from there website. Your best bet for availability is to check first thing in the morning. Alot of calibers are probably never available though. Shipping is free over $150.

All ammo is still on the high side but at least it's still available

Who tee who, there’s ammo out there but the problem I always run into is that it’s more than I want to pay for a box of 9mm. That’s happening most every where except one time at cabelas when I bought two boxes of 12 gauge buckshot at a normal price. That’s why I hand load. The only thing with that is setting aside the time to hand load.

Yeah Cabela's here in WI is a bit cheaper pretty much across the board....beside me not paying attention to 35 Rem cuz I don't have one either.

Good haul except the price. Glad I started reloading and really stocked up in the past. Guess I'm sitting on a gold mine in ammo even 22lr I bought for 7 cents a round

I would like to revisit one you've already done, I think. It's the Ruger American rimfire standard 22' inch barrel, if you can't do it I understand, if you can throw it in with other multi faceted video you may be doing that'd be great

I just finished watching your video of 9 mm 40 caliber and 45 shooting against the new school cast iron skillet; I hope you find an old school cast iron skillet which is thicker and heavier to redo the test with Earth brother. 🐢🦅🤠
