The Buccaneer S.1 in War Thunder is a British Event Plane that has a crazy ordinance for its Battle Rating.

The Buccaneer and Scimitar Combination is insane. Between the two planes you have 8 Bullpup Missiles and 4 Bombs giving you a potential 12 frags. This is assuming you can aim all of the ordinance but also assuming you don't get multiple frags per bomb or missile.
This combination at this specific battle rating is basically a CAS pilot's dream. The Bullpup Missiles allow you to stay far enough away from less capable SPAA and pick off targets far from where they're paying attention.
Although the spawn cost for each plane is pretty steep, their potential is well worth that cost assuming you know what you're doing.

I’m going to keep asking, because I think it could really make a difference. Would you consider dedicating a video a week to playing a proper lineup? A lot of new players are introduced to the game through your videos, and the “tank of the day” style gives them the impression that they should only have one vehicle and maybe a plane. Showing them how to build a lineup and bringing more than one ground vehicle might help to get players to stay in a match for longer than their first death.

That’s such an under appreciated comment. You are telling exactly what needs to be done by most of the KZbinrs of WT. This old approach of “single vehicle video” must be gone already, huge part of the skill ceiling in the game is about building a right deck of vehicles, having all roles covered, etc. New players must learn that to be efficient and not drag the team down. Having a dedicated videos about that is such a great idea.

One unique aircraft that I'd love to see in the game is what is called the "Messerspit". A Spitfire Mk. V that was captured on the Channel Islands by the Germans, later taken to Germany for testing, then tested with the same engine and frontal nose cone from the Bf-109.

My former neighbour was a professional photographer and embedded with the RAF during the first Gulf War in 1990 and was put into the back seat of a Buccaneer to photograph the massive destruction of the Iraqi Republican Guard after they were caught withdrawing on a road. A famous catastrophe for them.

Skilled CAS player's are rare these days. You more likely to get killed by suicide bombers these days and are usually revenge bombers.

@@asabatonlessarmour4372I agree and unfortunately that leaves empty teams 30 seconds in cause people waste all their sp on their plane then can’t respawn and help their team. When I play cas I also target any enemy planes and keep sky’s clear cause that’s just as important. People w planes usually either revenge bomb or just kill the first thing they see which isn’t very helpful. Good pilots know that using strategic cas to save teammates and defend objectives can win games

I feel like most people don’t actually hate cas they just hate revenge bombers but they associate that with cas. Honestly most people that complain about cas also take no steps to counter it. They get upset when they can’t do anything to a plane when they’re in a tank destroyer then claim planes are op.

Much as I hate cas, high speed low level bombing is exactly what the buccaneer was designed for. I have a certain fondness for the aircraft as I live not far from where they were designed and built. The Yorkshire Air Museum (near York) have two on display and they are impressive besties up close.

I have no regrets grinding UK/SA tech tree. Yeah Tier 2 ground sucks when Pz IV one-shots you from 400 yds, but their CAS tree is great and theirs no better rush than when you actually get the first shot off and pen lower-front plate for the one-shot a German Heavy with APDS.

It has incredible amounts of engine power, something like 5 times the G91 haha Downside is the rudder literally does not work at any combat speed. Aim 9s are your main weapon for air to air since it's very hard to get the nose on target.

​@frostedbutts4340 Guns work well, too, but take more skill than any other plane in the same br. You gotta use WASD to aim since mouse aiming is non-existent. I've flown the Scimitar quite a lot, so I'm used to it. When playing Grb, I sometimes carry 3 bullpups and one AAM. Some planes think they can out climb me in a vertical climb (many Me262 users), and they stall in the air. All I need to do is turn around and launch an AAM on them. It's hilarious 😂

I enjoy playing the Scimitar more than the Buccaneer in GRB, but what I do in the Scimitar is a "bait flyby." Basically, flying a bit low to bait AAs to shoot at me so I can see if there are any or where they are and decide who eats the AGMs first.
