This airplane is a beast in air simulator. You just have to watch out for stalls by being gentle and playing with flaps. You can take so much ground targets and still defend yourself easily against enemy fighters. However, when a fighter comes down on you, you usually have only one opportunity. The next move is to run away. For simulator players, keep engine at 90% when doing CAS. You'll stay between 350 - 450km/h which gives you enough energy to position if an enemy fighter attacks you. On a head-on, a salvo of rockets often makes quick work of the enemy.

Agreed! One of my favorites in the game. Huge tip I’ve found with it is sticking in cruise control 2 or using manual shifting to stay in 3rd gear. If I can find a hill to get the revs up in 4th you can stay there but it just doesn’t have the power coming out of 3rd, you end up going slower in 4th than just staying in 3rd otherwise, especially if you’re doing any turning. It’s a small advantage but it makes a big difference mobility wise.

I use the AP in my Bulldog more than the sabot rounds more often than not. Usually when I’m at BR I’ll use AP as primary shell choice and use the sabot when up-BR’d as primary shell choice

One of the most if not thee frustrating things for me about ground forces is the Axis can often fly above and strafe the allies spawn zones, due to our lacklustre SPAA. Sometimes we have Russia on our side but more often not, whilst the Axis have laser beams of death with a range of almost half the map. Sure we have turret mounted 50 cals, but the they also have so many U.S tanks in their teams so they have them too.

Rocket CAS is in my opinion the best CAS in game. It is not as braindead to use as gun CAS where you literally only point and left click and has much higher potential than bomb CAS which usually only get 2 drops. Most rockets take atleast some amount of skill to aim and if you get comfortable with it, you can get amazing games where you get like 5 to 8 tank kills with one payload. Also it's hella satisfying to watch :)

I still don't understand why US 20mm works much much better than British Hispano... I mean, 1-2 direct hits from M3 cannon will surely crippled a plane but couple hits from Hispano could not able to do that despite sharing the same HEF ammo. And btw, I rarely able to hit with those hydras so I'm usually playing the AD-4 with 2x1-1x2 loadout.

The later US HE-T has three times the explosive filler. The US could afford the time and money to make quality ammunition. Meanwhile, in ol’ Blighty... we were pretty much strangled for resource.
