I just learned an interesting tidbit about That Acapulco Gold. Apparently it was produced by one Dave Diamond, who was one of the original Boss Jocks when KHJ 930-AM in Los Angeles became the first station to adopt the Boss Radio format. Diamond also spent some time at KTLK in Denver, and eventually retired to, and passed away, in South Dakota.

"As far from Beautiful Downtown Aurora as it can get." You're moving to 39° 43' 46" S, 75° 10' 5.1" E, in the Indian Ocean about halfway between Africa and Australia? (NOTE: St. Paul Island is about 140 miles ENE of your position. Maybe you could set up the Archive there?)

Speaking of KLAK, somewhere in my vast archive of Radio Jingles, I have a pretty worn audio file of a jingle package KLAK ordered from JAM Creative Productions back in the early 70s... ♫ 16...(*SNAP*)...AM, K-L-A-K! ♫ Gonna have to dig a little to find it...

From 19:30 to 20:23 the sound of that record tearing itself apart was agonizing to hear. I don't even know what they were talking about from that point on, the scratching took over my brain's thoughts.

Here in Tulsa we actually had a Casa Bonita. It didn't have the waterfall, but it did have everything else mentioned, including the uh, side-effects of eating there. Unfortunately it's no more, as charming as the place was.

It was nice to see something like this that you had actually experienced yourself. It's a lovely episode. I might show my mom this who is a Denver native herself. Glad to see a KLAK section is here, even if only a small moment. The Hawaiian music thing seems crazy. Not bad crazy but out of the ordinary type of crazy. A country station playing Hawaiian. Awesome!

Another great episode, Ben. Always been interested in regional programming. I’m born and raised Chicagoan and lucky that Fuzzy Memories has a lot of clips from the era I grew up in(born in ‘74 so you can do the math). Looking forward to Pt 2. Have a stress free move, Ben

So, "Touchdown Banditos" was Denver's attempt to capitalize on the whole Super Bowl Shuffle thing? (The Patriots had a very feeble attempt as well.. called "Berry the Bears" if I remember correctly, and they were promptly destroyed in SB XX)

This is NOT the Archive's first 2 parter, as said in 2:11. The Emergency Broadcast Salute is the Archive's first 2 parter (you later combined the 2 parts to make it into one video, but it was still 2 parts).
@MichaelMangi6 жыл бұрын
That was a forced 2 parter because KZbin used to limit videos to 10 minutes in length. If you look, it wasn't edited to be a 2 part since it was originally on Blip.
