I must publicly apologize to you both. I had stated that I thought your hinges were backwards. First, I am not a carpenter. I spoke out of place. Please accept my apology. I have watched you as well since your container conversion. I am absolutely impressed by your knowledge and uniqueness of your ideas. I was really impressed by the tub you made. I can see where we as viewers can speak out of place. Stay strong and know you are wonderful people. Much love sent your way!

your just building like an engineer.. as a carpenter for over 40+ years now it has been a joy to watch an engineer build instead of design.. your doing a great job I think.. it is different than I would do but you are making a very neat and precise and beautiful build.. something to be proud of.. and with this experience you will outfit your boat quicker and even better than this.. Oh man contact cement.. I actually hate this stuff.. it is like mastic I seem to get it every where and such a head ache.. like the old saying goes "Better you than me!" Man I love you watch you guys.. never afraid to venture out and try new things.. Wish I was young again..

Duca is a genius with figuring out (being super lucky??) the angles and creating 'masterpieces" ---- as Roberta will find out shortly. Speaking of the Glow Woman---you just shine with health and pride. I am so happy for the three of you.

With all this Plywood and laminating by the time you have finished this van all you will be able to load in it is a few cans of Tuna. You should be exploring lightweight options. When considering lightweight alternatives to plywood for projects like van conversions or other mobile builds, here are some options you might want to explore: Honeycomb Panels: These panels consist of a honeycomb structure sandwiched between thin layers of material such as aluminum or fiberglass. They are lightweight and provide good strength. Corrugated Plastic Sheets: Corrugated plastic sheets are durable, lightweight, and water-resistant. They are commonly used for temporary structures and signage but can also be used for certain interior applications. Foam Core Boards: Foam core boards, like PVC foam boards or foam-cored polyethylene sheets, are lightweight and offer good insulation properties. They are easy to work with and can be a good alternative to plywood. Aluminum Composite Panels: These consist of a thermoplastic core sandwiched between aluminum sheets. They are lightweight, durable, and offer good rigidity.

As its designed to carry huge weights of cargo, doubt this is a problem!
@OddLifeCrafting4 ай бұрын
Cost and easy to work material plays a huge part on the decision. This is poplar plywood that is really light. Here in france that is the most common material used as it has great cost/weight benefit. 😅

A useful trick for gluing laminate to wood, as you are doing, is to lay a sheet of polythene onto the wood, then put the laminate on top of the polythene. Line everything up correctly, then carefully slide the polythene out from between them. I've done this in the past, and it has been very successful.

Another wonderful video. You will probably need to upgrade the vehicle weight, this interior is going to be so so heavy. Add to that if you are going to take it to anywhere cold, you will need a lot of insulation. Good luck.

personally I would try to fit a pas through between the driving area and the "house. Imagine waking up and its raining HARD you need to move, you both have to get out, get wet and run round to the doors. Or god forbid you have someone attempting to rob the van thinking its empty. Even a hatch you can lock from either side would do. 👍
@OddLifeCrafting4 ай бұрын
The original idea was to have a window but in the end to keep the three sit configuration the window ended up way too small but we might add a "door eye" (not sure how you call). A passage is impossible if we want to keep the three sit configuration and regarding that we have no option, there is a baby arriving in 3 months. 🥰
@ANASTASIOSROUSOUNELIS4 ай бұрын
i think since you will sell the van at the end, you should keep the original bulkhead for the next user. they are usually expensive and difficult to find. store it somewhere in the meantime and put it at the back/cargo area for the next guy. let him decide whqt to do. the seat goes further back with the bulkhead, top and bottom, the plastic one. if he will be tall he will have a big problem adjusting the seat.. good luck! thank you

Luka why are u blocking the entranz from driver seat to back.? All camper vans have seats to turn back facing the back off the camper. Just asking Oto
@OddLifeCrafting4 ай бұрын
We answered that on the video. We need to keep the 3 seats in front and then we cannot turn them. Also having a bulkhead keeps a better insulation to travel to cold places
@robertdawson60434 ай бұрын

Heyy!! Estava a ver um video do Modustrial Maker, e ele disse uma coisa que me deu uma ideia para voces: uma Newsletter, mas! Quando subscreve-mos ha newsletter escolhe-mos que projectos estamos interessados: Van / Boat Build / Boat Interior Build / Traveling by Boat / Travelling by Van, etc...

I am so surprised they haven't figured this out yet. Are you going to sail the ocean with a new baby? What about all the issues that come with a newborn? Weeks or months at sea with a new child will be almost impossible.
@OddLifeCrafting4 ай бұрын
The baby will be born in 3 months. The hull of the boat is not even ready. Remember that we will build the interior and all the systems ourselves so by the time we set sail the baby won't be a baby anymore, he will be a kid. There is people that cross oceans with a new born, we don't wanna do that. 🥰
