That is the first Hoover Shampoo polisher that went on sale in 1962. We got a Hoover Shampoo polisher F4002 in brown and cream in the 1980s. It only lasted twenty seven years.

I remember my mum and borrowing one in the 80’s, branded Bissell, brown and cream to do the living room carpets, not very effective with no water subtraction, but it did ok for what it was. That machine did the rounds around the neighbourhood 🤣🤣🤣

Great vid, two big thumbs up!! 👍👍 I use a thick foam pad underneath my tripod to eliminate the wobblies by the way. The suppressor "poof" was priceless. Glad that's an easy/cheap fix.

That poor Hoover! At least it's an easy fix. Hope your ok. I am SO glad that U.S. vintage Hoover's and Lux are not equipped with time bombs..er..I mean suppressors. I would have had to have a change of undies!=}.. LOL

That was a very through clean of the rug to say the least ! . Brilliant display from the Hoover until the suppressor blew and it was doing a superb job too . The Bissell one didn't seem as though it was doing such a good attempt on the scrubbing as compared with the Vintage Hoover one . Can't wait to see your video of refurbish on the Hoover. I would have used one of the Hoover Juniors to vacuum it at the start to get all the grit out of the rug . I have just cleaned two of my in laws rugs using a Vax washer and used one of our ever faithful Hoover Junior 1334As to vacuum them at the start. Great entertaining video Dorian

Seems like this old Hoover has done a better job than the new ewbank.. I bought a brand new about two yers ago and returned it because it didn’t work for me.. Mine didn’t had the vacuum on, was just the floor polisher

Hey Luis 👍, I was a bit disappointed in the Ewbank for this use, I know it’s not meant for it, it does an OK job at polishing, but with small pads and weak torque, it’s OK, the Hoover did much better, I know it blew up 🤣, but you’ll see the refurb of this on the first of June and another carpet wash video using the Hoover the Friday after and you’ll be surprised 🤗

Yeah, I find it very handy for everyday use, just don’t get me started on how crap it is I can’t leave the on button on when I’m trying to dust with it! 🤣🤣🤣. The Hoover is all fixed up now and done a few more videos after this, it’s fab 🤗

Glad to hear the hoover is fixed up! I've got two 1980s Henrys which both need work! Well. One needs a suppressor and one needs the bearings lubed. I'll make a video on them today. The Ewbank did not do as well as the hoover did! My nan and granddad have a Ewbank Carpet Sweeper for my great aunt (Passed away on 25th March 2017) and they've had it for as long as I can remember! I used it a few days back and it was absolutely pants! Rather than picking dirt up, it spat it out! As the dirt containers are full of fluff and fibres! Which means when I come over tomorrow I'll have to use Hetty (The main vacuum cleaner in their house) to suck out all the rubbish! The rug seems to have transformed massively!!
