I just want to thank you for this analysis, it's one of the best ones I've heard. From the way you speak, the clear explanation, and your superb slides. You are an absolute Gem!

Woao!!! Outstanding comprehension and a very clear didactic analysis of this poetic gem. Im not a native english speaker but learned a lot with this video because reading it first in the spanish traslation vanishes all the rythmic beauty. Saludos from Venezuela!

You have no idea how much I wish I had somebody like you as my literature teacher. Thank you so much. My horrible teacher put me off one of my most favourite subjects, but I'm still interested and trying to learn. What you are you doing is extremely helpful. Thank you!

@@MissHannaLovesGrammar I'm well out of school for more than one or two decades now, but not out of love for literature. Thank you again for your analysis. It helps us amateur guys understand works better. Even ones we think think we know. Always grateful to learn more. Thank you for that. Cheers and have a merry day.

I think it would make sense if Keats was suggesting that those who experience melancholy and accept it feel the most pleasure, because they can compare their experiences of pain to that of pleasure, and so the pleasure becomes more intense.

Very insightful - thank you. Just one query : you pronounce Psyche truncated, whereas as most I've come across pronounce it with an elongated "ee".Can I assume there is no "correct" way - it's simply down to personal choice?
@MissHannaLovesGrammar4 жыл бұрын
This is a fabulous question Anthony - thanks for asking it! To my knowledge, depends if these are used as nouns or verbs. imagining these are verbs: psyche is to put someone in a reflective state concentrating on the soul or spirit and psych puts someone in a required psychological state. As nouns: psyche = associated with soul, spirit and being human whilst psych = psychology or psychiatry. Hope this helps!

I am from india and here we have an entrance exam called upsc...for getting recruitment in civil services...and in the second stage of the exam out of 9 ,2 subjects are optional,i.e u can choose ur field for those two papers and i was thinking of choosing English literature if i start my preparation for next year's upsc...so if i tell u about the syllabus of upsc mains eng literature optional..will u make videos on those poems or novels ???there are lot of aspirants who would benefit from that type of content bcoz the questions asked in exam are from a very in depth analytical point of view and students mostly skim through the summary and long answer questions n all... English being a second language people cant even understand sometimes what the poet is saying ..i did not understand this ode before ur video so.. would u be interested in making videos on few of those writers/poems/prose.
