Most underrated show in TV history. It’s simply criminal this show didn’t have a larger audience. Similar to GOT or Vikings, the music of TLK was one of the primary reasons this show was as epic as it was. That and the writing, characters, acting, lighting and everything else basically. Uhtred, Finan, Sihtric, Hild, Father Beocca, Odda, Aethelflaed, Lady Aelswith, Aldhelm (best 2nd man ever), Haesten, Osferth, Brida, Kings Alfred and Edward- heck even that turd Aethelwold- some of the best, most fantastic characters ever developed for a series. Listening to the soundtrack makes me want to go start another rewatch. DESTINY IS ALL!

Yes, I love this show! I must have been a warrior in another time and place. I am married to a Viking, and I know he was definitely a warrior in a previous life. He is fierce and frightening when he needs to be, warm and loving when he is in a peaceful, relaxing place. He would have fit in perfectly with Uhtred and his men!

I read the book series The last Kingdom (The Warrior series) and enjoyed it. Thought it would make a great film or series, and oh Netflix gives us that. Very well done and it's nice to see how the musketeers (Uhtred and his men - Sihtric and Finan) change and develop their character as the series advances. Twelve books, that's a lot there between historically-based items and fiction - true King Alfred never lived to see England united, and then again lost to Vikings/Norsemen (from the north). Very underrated series indeed.

Any fan should really try and visit Bamburgh (Bebbanburg) Castle, there is a small TLK display on until 5th Nov '23, included with the entry fee... It gave me goosebumps to see Uhtred's costume and sword - Serpent Breath! It was also great to hear the soundtrack playing in the background! I was giddy with excitement... I loved this series, growing up in England it's weird but we never learnt anything about Athelstan, despite him being the father of England, and learnt nothing really about Edward or Alfred, except that Alfred defeated some Vikings in a battle after burning some bread. Although it wasn't always historically accurate, this series was really an eye opener for many English people.
