The ending left me devastated. Throughout both games I always was hoping and wishing for a happy ending for Hugo, he so much deserved that. The fact that the devs made you kill him was difficult to do, it left me broken. Rest in peace Hugo

I was hoping for the same, but honestly... I was surprised by the "happy" end of Innocence, I just knew Hugo and his mother would die. I wasn't sure for Lucas and Amicia, and I'm happy that they survived. But... Yes. It's really a sad end, but a logical one. I'm happy with it. Somehow, just like Harry Potter, I would have been bothered by an happy end. (Harry should have died at the end, Voldemort's defeat would have been even greater with his sacrifice).

Immediately when I heard this in the nebula, impression I had was that Amicia was stuck in her own limbo / afterlife because of how angelic the music was. I can't explain the feelings that swelled up inside me. Somehow I knew that it was over for Hugo before we see him again, as he was simply trying to teach Amicia to let go with the last of his willpower. Thank you Mr. Deriviere. Plague Tale would not be what it is without your contribution! My GOTY. I had to edit to add, the lyrics area already making me teary eyed, this is incredible.

Poor Amicia. I know she's a fictional character but dayum... Seeing her be torn apart, body mind and soul for hours upon hours in hopes of completing what is a simple, noble, and relatable, but ultimately futile goal is heartwrenching. and this Requiem drives it home beautifully. Even the cover art, where you see her determined, yet pained and emaciated face, guarding her brother's ghostlike one is a work of art on it's own.

It’s amazing how much more content you get being able to understand the lyrics. As an English speaker, not knowing the lyrics I still felt so much from this both during the game and separately on its own. But knowing the lyrics make it even me incredible and makes me further appreciate the music and the story being told. French is such a perfect language for this. Absolute masterpiece I’m so thankful to have had the honor to listen to.

comment ne pas etre boulversé. Comment ne pas etre touché. Comment ne pas etre brisé par cet ensemble musical, ces paroles simples et l'histoire qui nous est racontée. L'ampleur du drame de cette histoire... Toute la solitude et l'immensité abysale du vide laissé, une histoire comptée mais qui rassemble tous les codes du véritable Amour et de l'insondable innocence des enfants et leur courage plus grand que celui des adultes car ils dont justes et honnêtes. Une histoire accompagnée de la musique la plus puissante pour l'âme. Ceux qui ressortent idemnes de ce "jeu" ont une part d'humanité défaillante.... Olivier Deriviere a accompli un exploit dont il peut être fier. Toucher la part la plus cachée et vulnérables de bien des personnes en complément indispensable d'une aventure tragique où le sens logique et juste de la vie est bafoué et nous plonge tous dans les ténèbres pour un temps. Une leçon qui va au delà d'un jeu. Apprend peut-être à certains à aimer plus fort des êtres proches qui ont besoin de nous et ne pas prendre leur presence pour acquise car la vie est d'une violence inouïe et peut reprendre tout et n'importe qui peu importe avec quelle force nous nous batterons contre elle. Les souvenirs sont tous ce qui restent quand on a perdu quelqu'un. Il faut en fabriquer de beaux et de vrais. Joueur depuis des décennies, je n'avait jamais été aussi secoué. J'ai presque regretté d'y avoir joué. J'ignorais que ca me percuterair et m'empecherait de dormir 3 jours avant de doucement reprendre mes esprits. Je n'oublierai pas. J'ai l'album, il me suis encore aujourd'hui. J'ai une fille de 7 ans. Je vois la même douveur, le même amour, le même courage d'aimer que Hugo. Que ceux qui pensent que c'est mélo sachent qu'ils se trompent. La plupart des enfants sont aussi bons et courageux que Hugo et ils comptent sur nous. Ils sont corrompus plus tard, au contact des autres humains.. quand ils comprennent que la corruption et la compromission permettent l'accès plus aisé à des résultats. Hugo restera éternellement innocent et juste d'un amour pur pour sa soeur. C est ce qui touche. Le "je t'aime" d'Hugo résonne comme les je t aime des autres enfants, il n'est empreint que de vérité. C'est ce qui touche aussi autant dans cet ensemble global artistique.

That was the best decision you could have made for this game. Throughout 'Requiem' I was hoping that the 'Beyond the Horizon' theme would make a reappearance. And then... here it was. At the grand finale. Everything, from the choir to the organ to the timing was pure perfection. Chapeau, M. Deriviere! C'est vraiment une des bandes originales les plus magnifiques de tous les temps.

I get that Hugo's death was sad, but what really cemented the anguish for me was when Lucas didn't stick around after things were over. His trauma was never really explored and I guess he's suffered way more than we ever acknowledged, so the fact that he chose to leave Amicia despite the trauma bond being so strong in most cases hit pretty hard

Je voulais juste voir les paroles, j'ai fini les larmes aux yeux, après avoir replongé l'espace de 4 minutes dans cette histoire si singulière. J'ai rarement entendu une OST qui soit autant en symbiose avec le jeu, l'histoire et les personnages qu'elle accompagne. Le genre qui marque pour toute une vie. Simplement magistral.

Magistral... Ça fait des semaines que j'écoute cette œuvre, j'essayais de deviné les paroles et de chanter dans ma tête des paroles que je comprenais pas, seul "la-haut" et le "ciel" Mais aujourd'hui j'arrive pas à dissocier la musique du jeu. Cette musique est tellement poignante. Car on repense à cette fin, mais pas seulement, c'est la musique qui symbolise tout, de la premier seconde où Hugo a donné sa main à Amicia, jusqu'à (...) C'est comme ça quel raisonne en moi en tout cas. C'est pas seulement une musique d'adieu. Quand je l'entend, je repense à tout, pas seulement la fin, pas seulement à Requiem, mais à tout ce que Hugo et Amicia on enduré. Surtout que, le jeu fabrique du déni chez le joueur, il refuse de croire. Il cherche une fin décréte , il essaye de faire demi tour, il attend. C'esf incroyable. Je sais pas vous, mais à la toute fin du jeu, quand j'étais KO assis. Après la phase de déni, je n'avais plus que cette musique dans la tête (surtout que j'ai mis du temps à comprendre ce que tu sais quand on l'entend) Bref ce mélange de douceur et de tristesse qui semble ce répéter à l'infini, comme une infini tristesse. 😔

Un récit magique d'un amour fraternel et tellement de beauté jusque dans des détails (d'Amicia dites comme la lune et Hugo le soleil, la musique du menu du jeu qui est aussi la dernière qu'on entend à la fin du jeu en plus dramatique et lourde de sens, à même toute cette musique qui nourris l'intrigue et rend l'ensemble magistral) j'ai aimé le premier jeu mais celui-ci encore plus.

I have played both Plague Tale. They are a masterpiece, in all aspects: game dynamics, characters, graphics, but among those that impressed me the most were the story and the music. A dramatic and heartbreaking story that, combined with the music, made me cry for the first time in a game. The music is the centre of this game, around which everything revolves; without it, it would not be the same. Each track perfectly expresses what happens in the game and the feelings of Amicia and Hugo, immersing you directly into the scene. I cannot explain the feelings I get from listening to your music. It's amazing how Beyond the horizon from the first game has the same meaning about that nightmare. Amicia dreamed of that and finally came truth when she had to accept how her brother was condened to die by the macula and how Amicia couldn't do anything to stop it. After all we had a big spoiler about Requiem's story but we were too innocents to understand. Thank you for creating such wonderful tracks.

Plague tales is such a special series. In an industry that is heavily competitive with triple A releases and unecessary monetization, this game just feels so...genuine. It knows what it is and is eager to share with it's players an emotional and wonderfully told story set in a bleak, hostile world. By the end of my experience the game had made me care so much for Amecia and Hugo's struggle with the macula that I was in tears when it was all over, and the game had been in my thoughts for days. But it would never have impacted me as much as it did without the amazing soundtrack to back the hard-hitting moments. It's beautiful, beyond beautiful. It breathed so much life into the game, and it has become one of my favourites, if not my 'favourite' OST in gaming. Thank you for giving your work to make such an amazing experience so much more better. I really look forward to the future of this truly special series.

Cela fait 5 jours que j'ai fini le jeu et cela fait 5 jours que je n'arrive pas à m'en remettre. J'ai enchaîné le 1 et le 2 pour faire l'histoire globale d'une traite et la fin m'a vraiment déchiré. Je suis toujours partagé entre un "tout ça pour ça / pourquoi il n'y a pas une autre alternative" et un "wow ! C'est la première fois que je ressens quelque chose comme ça pour un jeu vidéo". Un immense merci à vous, je suis passé par plus d'émotions en deux opus de A Plague Tale que dans d'autres "simples" films que j'ai pu voir. Et c'est en grande partie grâce à votre musique. I completely agree with everything in this comment. I don’t remember if another game has ever had such an impact on me. Other games have brought me to tears a handful of times…. But Requiem had me stuck thinking about it for days following completing it ( 2 times in a row). Just listening to this song on it’s own on KZbin the day after completing the game has me just as torn up as when I first completed it.

Tant d'émotions pour exprimer des choses si fortes et si vraies avec des accords repris de Innocence qui collaient déjà si bien au 1er volet... Un pur chef d'oeuvres. Le choix renouvelé par Asobo d'Olivier Derivière pour habiller Requiem n'a rien d'un hasard ! C'est bouleversant tant tout est dit en quelques mots et si peu de notes. PS: les acteurs de renom, comme Sean Bean qui a participé à Innocence, seront d'accord avec moi j'en doute pas. Quand ça sonne aussi juste c'est que C'EST juste !

Superbe cérémonie des Pégases 2023 qui a récompensé 4 fois A PLAGUE TALE: REQUIEM. 4 prix (excellence narrative, excellence visuelle, meilleur univers sonore et prix du public) ont salué le travail effectué par les créateurs d'Asobo Studio sur le second volet des aventures d'Amicia et de Hugo. J'en suis ravi car il fallait bien ça pour témoigner des émotions ressenties en jouant à ce jeu (digne successeur d'Innocence)!!! J'ai particulièrement été ravi avec le prix d'honneur décerné spécialement pour l'excellence du travail d'Olivier Derivière sur tous les jeux auxquels il a participé et notamment la série des A PLAGUE TALE. Asobo Studio peut dès lors considérer que c'est un 5ème prix qui récompense Requiem puisque Olivier en signe la BO 🏆 ? Comme c'est un prix d'honneur, c'est surtout un prix SPECIAL qui revient à Olivier et aux artistes qui constituent ses équipes sur toutes ses oeuvres, y compris sur A PLAGUE TALE. Bravo aussi à chacun des jeux nommés et/ou récompensés dont les qualités sont indéniables dans leurs catégories respectives car une cérémonie ne serait rien sans les nombreux candidats dignes à recevoir ces récompenses. Stray, qui y a remporté à lui seul 3 prix dont celui de jeu de l'année, en est un excellent exemple pour un premier jeu car c'est un réel chef d'oeuvres. Merci à tous et bravo (y compris à Salomé qui a évité autant que possible de couper la parole aux lauréats de ces prix car, après avoir tant donné pour créer leurs jeux, ils ont bien gagné le droit de prendre quelques minutes pour dire ce qu'ils ressentent et remercier toutes les personnes qui les y ont aidé) 👏 PS: faudrait faire écouter la BO de Requiem à la ministre de la culture pour l'aider à dépasser sa peur des rats qui l'ont empêchée de savourer ce jeu qui raconte une si belle et si triste histoire d'amour fraternel ? En tous cas un extrait de "Là-haut" pendant la cérémonie ça m'aurait bien plu...

Hi, This is the best game that I played in 2022 and the story is so moving! It's clearly a masterpiece! I will never forget the moment where Amicia is doing the best she can to help heal her brother from his Macula affliction and how she rushes to his side when he's freaking out over the experiments that Minister Vaudin did on him. She is so fearless in the way she always protects her brother Hugo and makes sure that nothing bad happens to him throughout their journey. It's also very touching the way Hugo hugs Amicia like she's his mom. That's absolutely precious! This music is my favorite as well in A Plague Tale Requiem! Great job with the editing in the video as well!

The Witcher 3's story and music made me cry for my fictional adopted daughter ( i dont have kids - i got the bad ending first playthrough) RDR2's story and music combined made me cry for my fictional horse (never owned a horse) Plague Tale Requiem's story and music made me cry for my fictional brother (don't have any siblings) Up, there and A knight are one of the most beautiful songs written in a video game with such a heavy and sad story

Amazing and haunting beyond words. I'm not a big gamer, nor the type to become emotional over videogames or movies, but I had to play this because the first one was too good not to. J'avais déjà une partie des paroles (genre "là-haut", "nous deux", "tout en haut", "toi et moi", "si haut"...) juste en écoutant le morceau en jeu sans casque (🎧 le mien doit être remplacé) mais c'est vrai qu'avoir la totale malgré le bruit ambiant c'est grand luxe. C'est en effet un très beau cadeau (genre comme si on l'avait dans une salle dédiée pour laisser dehors les bruits parasites). J'adore 🎁 Merci Olivier

voir les videos explicatives des choix musicaux. C est encore plus dingue de justesse. Le la haut, on sent que Amicia voudrait rejoindre Hugo ne jamais le quitter. mais dans la scene final, ce la haut.. on ne peut pas l'atteindre. Combien on essayes de suivre les rayons de lumière du ciel dans la nebula? Pensant que c etait la voie à suivre alors qu'ils sont dans le ciel et que le seul chemin est au sol devant et non au dessus où seul le petit Hugo va et laissant le joueur ( Amicia) au sol dans une solitude infinie.

You absolutely nailed this piece of music, my favourite piece and part of the game. I dont think any other game or movie has this level of emotion and connection with the characters. Im not a crier but this game ruined me in an amazing way.
