I have a slightly older model than the one you feature and it was very grubby with flaking paint and sticky numbers. I disassembled it and cleaned it and repainted it. It is now nice and smooth and all works fine except the wretched anti reverse pawl. I had little to go by in information and it was all a bit of trial and error to find what was stopping the rotor. In the end I freed up the pawl to rotate the rotor in a similar manner as you did, but I couldn't get it to stop going into action and jamming the rotor. I then removed it and all is well and it does work fine and calculates correctly. I can see no problem running without the anti reverse so long as I and anyone else knows it is deactivated. At least I now have a calculator that works. John
