I used the Charmzone Control Cream years ago and my mind was blown at how great it was! It was fun to use, my skin felt good and I remember the congestion around my jaw became almost non-existent. I think I need to revisit this type of skincare product, I reminisced on it recently!

I’ve been into K Beauty for over 5 years at this point. And after discovering your channel I’m really curious as to why so many of the brands you talk about, I hear very little of when they seem to be so highly regarded in South Korea

I'll make a video about it at some point, but to sum it up most brands that are popular abroad were created specifically targeting the foreign market and were able to become overnight sensations with the help of Korean institutions. I recently wrote a thread on twitter about it twitter.com/odilemonod/status/1591670530696163328?t=Dhqg7_U96YhuhuV7l2l0Jg&s=19 The companies (both brands and retailers) that sponsor youtube influencers have partnerships with this type of brands, so the brands you see in English-language K-beauty channels are always the same if you notice and when someone discovers a "holy grail", everyone else follow suit because they're sponsored by the same companies (peer pressure also plays a role no doubt). I myself receive sponsorship requests from this type of brands all the time, while most brands that are actually popular in Korea simply don't care about English-language youtubers 🤷‍♀️

Ones actually popular in Korea especially the ones that stand the test of time are much more higher quality with better ingredients and therefore comparatively more expensive than the westernized fad stuff. I’ve been using Korean products for over 25 years when the only way to buy them was through Korean markets and boutiques and they were not concerned with marketing to westerners. Unfortunately I can’t find many Koreans make authentic contents in English. I am so happy to have found odile’s channel and she is truly the only English speaker creator that makes authentic Korean beauty product contents.

I recently discovered your channel a couple months ago, and I have been watching every single video on your channel 😂 I tried the brand Isa Knox, and it quickly became one of my favorite K-Beauty brand! I am obsessed with the whole Age Focus Prime Pro-Retinol line, especially the Ampoule Skin and the Eye For All Cream. The line makes my skin really moisturized so I can better tolerate my prescription retinoid. I’m also in love with the Mela Care For All Cream as well 🥰 The UV Sun Pro and the Te’rvina AD cream are on my wishlist to try next, even though the cream was supposedly for older audience, but I have dry skin so…I might still get it 😂

Thank you! I can't speak for melasma but I have a genetic predisposition for age spots so I've been using it as day cream to fade some existing spots and prevent the formation of new ones and I'm really happy with it. I had a few spots under my left eye that kept coming back again and again but I noticed they stopped since I started using the Mela Care For All Cream last year. I find the way those products are promoted to be a little misleading. While the data we have on those enzymes is promising, there's a catch: it's very hard to get cosmetics to penetrate deep enough into the skin, let alone into skin cells. The LG products created in collaboration with the Cha Medical Group don't make those kind of claims, they don't claim to repair or modify the structure of our DNA, the ingredients are simply designed to stimulate skin regeneration and trigger authophagy by reproducing the natural process of cell regeneration observed in stem cell therapy. In simple terms, these ingredients are blend of specific growth factors, peptides, amino acids that send chemical signals to "activate" the stem cells already present in our skin. Hope that helps!

Their parent company LG acquired Avon North America, Japan and China in 2019 m.theinvestor.co.kr/view.php?ud=20190816000493 Avon North America now sells many brands owned by LG (CNP, VDL, Isa Knox, Physiogel on top of my head). Some of the Isa Knox products sold by Avon are developed by LG specifically for the US market (their US sunscreens for instance), others are the same products sold in Korea.
