Having gotten more time with Odin 3 and some sleep on top of that to process I truly am blown away at this advancement in y'all's work as I have been with each sampler before it, but all the more with Odin 3. Hey! Finally digging into this now, love it - just wondered is there a way to tighten up the attack, or is there a recommended negative MIDI offset to get it a little tighter on the grid? I get with sample instruments like this you need a little pre-attack for it to sound natural but it feels a bit behind the click...maybe? Sick work though, best sampled guitar I have by a mile. And I *play* guitar. This is just easier and more convenient haha.

The timing on this is insane. Literally JUST started a new project under my artist name for the Electronic Music I produce. Was playing actual guitar to come up with riffs then rewrite the MIDI with Odin II in Ableton - (same method as I do for my live/metal band projects/releases) - and incorporate some metal into this new Dubstep-like Electronic project. Unfortunately, gotta wait until next paycheck, a couple days out, but this track is gonna hit heavier and SO much better than I was imagining when I use the newer Odin instead!!! I guess I’ll just keep writing the ‘basic’ MIDI for the guitar parts and when this bad mf gets brought in, THEN the specific sounds, patterns, styles, etc will come into play. Cant wait! Another badass plugin dude! Loki, Odin, Mjolnir, and Fenrir are part of my premade template every single time, and has never failed to bring my tracks to life, sounding just like I want them.

3 questions: Can you pitch bend 1 note during a chord? For example a dissonant bend, where i have string 1 on 13th fret, string 2 on 17th fret, and i just bend the 17th fret while not bending string 1? does the sequencer use any previous midi information to determine the string? Like if i write a note in on the 15th fret, but i want it on the 12th fret of another string, so i modify that one note, will my next drawn in note know to use that area in relation? Im a little confused on how to change positioning. For example if i want to solo frets 9-17, and i have the pattern / position set yo play there, cool, but what if one run later i want to do the same but starting from like 5-9 going across the strings with some chords inbetween - it seems like the pre defined areas cant be changed and i would have to input a separate guitar for just those parts with different string positioning.

Can you add more tunings to the tuning section? I play in Drop C#, Drop A, Drop A# and even Drop D. I don't play in double drop tunings.
@SolemnTones7 ай бұрын
Hi there, the only problem with adding these would be that the string selection keyswitches would then attempt to pull from fret/sample combinations that don't even exist. The tuning section is purely a visual aid and has no impact on the available notes, so making it break certain other features would be a problem.

This is great. A couple questions: How would you automate Force Vibrato so it can be toggled on or off as necessary since it's not a keyswitch? And how does the auto slide work when you overlap two notes? Should the new note start when you want the slide to start from, or should the previous note extend into the new note? Do other things need to be turned on or off for this to work? It just sounds weird when I'm doing it. And will you have a written technical manual describing how all these features work? Thank you!!!

I appreciate the "Auto Chord Delay." That's been a big time eater for my writing. How long is the sustain? Is using midi from Guitar pro the same as Odin 2, just have to flip the "octave drop" switch? I'm curious to see how the "force vibrato" works. Will that be keyswitch activated as well? Because you probably don't want all the notes in a lead section to have vibrato.
@SolemnTones7 ай бұрын
The sustain is much much longer than Odin 2. It obviously varies from note to note as an open string can ring far longer than a 24th fret, but you can rest assured sustain on your chords and such will not be an issue. There is no octave drop switch anymore so you'd have to manually move all notes 12 semitones by highlighting them. The reason for this is that Odin 3 has SO many articulations, we could never fit them onto the midi spectrum when losing an octave. In essence, if a library matches guitar pro's octaves, it's impossible that it has as many articulations as Odin 3 does. Force vibrato can be automated on/off but is not keyswitch activated. Not all notes in a lead section would have a vibrato, since you can make them start late into the note with the attack knob. That said, worst case, it can just be automated on/off.
@EricJohnson-fh8zj7 ай бұрын
I'd be interested in a bass guitar VSTi that is as fully featured as this one is. Another great feature would be a step sequencer feature (like able to choose from 1 - 16 or 32 bars. And being able to save selectable A thru D sections/patterns for each instance). A good, intuitive step sequencer with scales and drag & drop midi can make programming very fast solo's much easier. Thats my vote for future feature requests lol

Go to the “tuning” menu and set it to “7 string drop A” OR if you like the thick warmth of the 8 string, just leave it default and play your riffs :) Note the sampler will be calibrated 12 semitones off guitar pro’s midi notation so you’ll want to transpose your whole midi 12 semitones

A lot of guitar players refuse to park their pride and admit those sort of things because it's a bit of a kick in the dick, but hey...technology is incredible these days. I got it to basically sound exactly like a really polished modern metal guitar recording. It seems to have this annoying honky frequency in the 600-700Hz area, but that's a very minor complaint and nothing an eq cut can't fix. To my ears anyways.
