My daughter caught a frog in a large grocery store when she was 7. She kept asking her dad if she could have the frog... he thought she meant a gummy frog and he kept saying no. As they were walking out of the store she pulled out a plastic produce bag from the pouch in her Hoody. He thought she had stolen something and turned around and went back into the store with her ( being all "parenty" and not actually listening to what she was trying to tell him). Long story short he marched her up to customer service and told her to show the lady what she took. She pulled out a dust bunny covered frog. The lady screamed, the manager came running and they figured out that she had found a frog that would have come in on a shipment from Mexico. We kept the frog for a few months then let it go in the local pond system after getting it identified. Was a normal pacific tree frog that had hitched a ride from summer temps in Mexico to a chilly northern climate. As the frog is found all over north America we just had to wait for summer to arrive so we could let him go. Was a good lesson for our kids and they still talk about it now as adults.

hi again dave and camera lady. some quick research would suggest that odin is likely to be a lady, sexual dimorphism for african bullfrogs, is quite interesting and apparent, males tend to have yellow throats, and females a more cream coloured throat and they retain(at least in part) a lateral yellow stripe. my best guess odin is female (although not fully grown) great video again!

Their eyes close when swallowing because they don't have the same swallow capabilities as us, so their eyes help push the meal down the throat! If you fill the pool to the top you will be able to see him hide in the water - they can sleep under there! It's a bit scary to see but they are fine and can spend weeks underwater depending on how oxygenated the water is !

I absolutely love Odin he must be fascinating to watch, he is a little confused about catching his dinner, bless him! I would watch your videos if you just had information sheets about every animal in your care and you pointed to the pictures, it is the valuable knowledge that you have and freely pass on to your viewers! I love the bull frogs but I am trying to rescue a little puppy so I can’t ask for anymore animals yet spiders are not exactly loved by my hubby and eldest son but they don’t have to do anything to them, but a bull frog would terrify their fragile minds, lol. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Where do frogs put their egg sacs? Nice to see someone who appreciates Sapo Giganté. I've seen these a couple of times on visits to Colombia. For anyone who has interests in Herps and inverts, you can't beat rural Colombia. I think you will have better luck finding Suriname Giant Toads. Nowadays most of South America is in Lockdown regarding exports of vertebrates. Suriname is still open under a quota system, as is Guyana. There is a couple of of other countries that technically allow it though its farmed species that are species that for various reasons aren't sought after. Hope this helps

Buddha Odin not to bright? Just needs a good set of glasses to speck. Everything looks like food. The cain toad does remind me of many people I've known, some it fits their personality, while others, it just takes some time to not judge by their cover. Are they not also called marine toads? In the early 1970's, I ordered one for my sister in a reptile order. He/she grew fast and was a dorm attraction at her college. Went from what the size of a US quarter or half dollar to about filling a dinner plate in a year or two. I think I saw they got loose in Australia and are now eating all the local frogs and toads, etc.
