That blew my mind to find out that the Matrix's core was held by string. I've thought it floated for the past 15 years

Even i saw the string and that line wasnt on hotrod's chest when the matix wasnt open
@thedarkestnight96005 жыл бұрын
@@mixofreak just watched the scene and idk what you mean. because you can see the string bits actually attached inside the matrix halves
@mixofreak5 жыл бұрын
@@thedarkestnight9600 I stand corrected in that specific view, however, I thought maybe it was an animation error, as the 'strings' are not visible on any of the other alternate views of the scene that follow afterward, and only in a few frames, but they are visible briefly in The Return of Optimus Prime as well! Possibly it was originally an animation error but is now part of canon, even if no other form of media has them. When I originally commented, I must have blinked and missed when it opened far enough to see that, since I rewatched the scene and can see it now.

Thank you! I really wanted to do actual tutorials, even if they are more entertainment based. I always hated watching or learning about something new only to have some step left out, or just skipped because "everyone knows this!" I specifically remember looking up tutorials on how to reprogram Nintendo cartridges to play homebrew games on the 8bit console, and I watched 4 different videos, plus read a number of written instructions, and all of them left something out! I had to cross reference each of them, and still guess on a step or two! I got it to work, and we did it for a Beyond Geek episode, but that was a real catalyst for trying to show everything. Thank you for noticing!

Gorgeous work, and of a prop I've actually never seen before! I love how you try new things with each new prop you tackle, and use easy to find pieces and tools. I'm so glad that you went with the styrene covered handle over the tissue version and you're right about going with what you're comfortable with, but I'd also suggest that working outside your comfort zone allows you to broaden your skill set which would help in future build projects. One thing I would like to know about this build is regarding the light up central core sphere. Have you considered lining the inside with your diffusion material (on projects like this and others), rather than the outside? I just think that the over all effect would look a little neater and when the lights are off, the ball would still look blue, but the effect would still be the same as shown here in your video. Anyway, I've just discovered your channel and I really like what you're doing. Please keep the videos coming... and I'm off to catch up with your back catalogue!

Looking really great ! I really like that you always try to make on a budget :) Regarding the glue+paper towel, well it's just papier-maché. you could actually replace the paper towel by newspapers paper and that would make more sens as it would not be textured and thinner to go in the corner. Thus you would need 2 layers but they would also dry faster. Also you can make a glue with only flour + water for that and it cost event less. In addition to cost and final look, there is a third thing to take into account in the choice of styrene or papier maché. If properly done, the papier maché will stay in better shape way longer that the styrene if dropped or stuff like that. As it's fibered, in my experience my only helmet in papier maché hold the longest in time so far :)
