You are right! I also believe Ishar lead the Knights Radiance. "She sucked in some Stormlight, then breathed out, using the still-fresh memory of the ardent to create- “Aaaaaaaah!” The madman leaped to his feet, screaming. He lurched for her, moving with incredible speed. As Shallan yelped in surprise, he grabbed her and shoved her out of her cloud of Stormlight. The image fell apart, evaporating, and the madman smashed her up against the wall, his eyes wide, his breathing ragged. He searched her face with frantic eyes, pupils darting back and forth. Shallan trembled, breath catching. Ten heartbeats. “One of Ishar’s Knights,” the madman whispered." Words of Radiance

Very compelling. The only point against it I can think of offhand is that Odium seemed to think Ishar and Dalinar have been working together. He thinks that's how Dalinar learned how to make a perpendicuity. Dalinar even lets him think that.
@MeMySkirtandIАй бұрын
Ah! Yes, that totally happened. Perhaps Odium feared that Ishar having betrayed one Shard, may betray another?

interesting theory I hadn’t really considered! ishar definitely has a lot of shady stuff going on and is absolutely untrustworthy when sane. I think your theories on him causing the recreance, heirochrocy, and also being the susfather make a lot of sense. but if ishar is responsible for the susfather and was working for odium, why would he abandon gavilar once gavilar admitted that he would let odium’s forces through? that seems counter intuitive if he was actually working with odium. I think he actual goals are much more mysterious, and I think the murdered spren are highly relevant to that. but we definitely should NOT trust him! very curious too if he did play a part in killing honor - it does make a lot of sense and I hope we learn more about that in book 5.

Melishi was bonded to the siblings though so how go we get around that part? Ishar could have been an advisor in this time, we don’t know that he wasn’t. But I don’t think he is Melishi though maybe Melishi was related to him?
@MeMySkirtandI6 ай бұрын
You’re right! That is the biggest hole in my pseudonym theory. I hadn’t considered the related angle. More like the namesake, like if you were named after a historical/religious person and that person appeared one day with a great idea. You’d probably hear them out.

Since I have not yet read past way of kings. From your theory you outline, it sound like Ishar decided god or in this case honor was dead so he decided to declare himself honor. My guest Odiumn was whispering in his ear when he did this.

Oh great! you might appreciate this analogy. That is to put it in terms of the Magicians Nephew;; Ishar is Roshar what Diggory is to Narnia. He stroke a tone on another world, which awakened world destroying magic, brought that magic into a harmonious world, and then was sent by the local deity to protect the harmonious realm, but instead said a naughty word and ate the forbidden fruit himself.

@Fatikis426 ай бұрын
There is a fair amount you've associated with Ishar that is kind of circumstantial. Here is the biggest one, you assume that Ishar was able to design an ideal Oathpact. This was an agreement between Odium. It wasn't a one-sided contract. Odium allowed himself to be bound due to circumstances that we don't understand. The Desolations were obviously something that were negotiated to be exploited, but there is no reason to suspect wrongdoing on Ishar's part. Is someone who claims they are Adonalsium reborn really going to work as Odium's pawn, and why would Taravangian allow Ishar to be his champion? You have to remember. This isn't a long-planned Rayse champion. Taravangian is making a choice. It is unlikely he'd stick with the choice made by Rayse. Taravangian knows that swearing an ideal in front of Ishar can break him. Taravangian would have to also ALLOW a dangerously insane Ishar who can manipulate Connection into his new Contest. As a normal dude who just killed a God, I doubt that Taravangian wants to be anywhere near someone who could bind him further as he did to Rayse. That is beyond dangerous.
@MeMySkirtandI6 ай бұрын
Those are all valid points, but seem to stem from the premise that Ishar, when sane, is an Honorable man. My premise is that Ishar, when sane, has the Honor of Brutus. Because Brutus is an Honorable man.
@Fatikis426 ай бұрын
@@MeMySkirtandI you didn't really support the premise that Ishar is Odious. The actions mentioned were reasonable. Leaving Taln saved humanity. What your theory requires is evidence that Ishar not only isn't Honorable, but that he is actively Odious. This entire thing would essentially mean that Ishar was working with Odium against Honor without Honor noticing. Ishar is The Binder of Gods. The Oathpact required all partners to be willing. From what we know Shards need to willingly enter an Oath. And then for him to still be champion you'd need Taravangian agreeing with a plan made by Rayse which IMO is the least likely portion.
