Odometer Error Repair: GM Truck/SUV 03-07 Classic

In this video, I show how to repair the Odometer Error message on GM trucks and SUVs. The problem is a corrupt eeprom. You will need to replace is the ATMEL 25020 at U15. The replacement eeprom can be an ST 95020. This covers 03/04, 05, and 06/07 classic clusters. Including Silverado, Escalade, Tahoe, Yukon, Sierra, Hummer.

I was changing to LEDs in my dashboard cluster, i was testing that the LES's were lighting and accidentally plugged the cable in upside down. I burnt up the cluster. Anyway, I got a rebuilt cluster and installed it on my 2004 suburban. I now have a inspect break booster on the display. I am unable to check the odometer reading. The switches on the steering wheel are not working. Would you know if I may have damaged anything else? Please let me know.

I can read and write on board for 05 06 07 using XGPro2 and the clip. It takes a few tries to get it on the EEPROM correctly tho

Hey, I have a cluster that I recently did LEDs on it, when I was gonna test It I saw that the PRNDL wasn’t turning on together with the odometer and all the needles weren’t working do you know what is the problem?

I use a UPA programmer. It will program this eeproms without removing them from the board. I got a high quality ponoma clip for it, the one that comes with it is junk.

I have experience with automotive electrical, but practically none with electronics. Is there somewhere that you get diagrams for the boards from? That can show which resistors are involved in the prndl display, which are involved in the dic display, how the voltage transformer/5v regulator is wired, etc? I've subscribed to this channel and just sent a join request to the fb group.

Schematics to the circuit boards are secretly guarded by the manufactures so hard to get. the only one we have is the 2005 board. Its in the file section of the FB group

I have an 04 silverado that I'm adding trans temp, which I have a good idea how to do, I've added the stepper motor already and know the code number and location to program it. My problem is I am planning on changing from a vacuum brake booster to a hydroboost system and i need the code location and numbers for it. Do you have a new memory chip for the 2005 Silverado HD? I like to buy one my chip is bad. The problem is (Odometer Error) the U15 chip my chip is empty from line 80 on down therefore copying it to a new chip is pointless so where can I download a good file from?

I am not on Facebook so forgive me if this is covered in your group. I have an 07 classic and I am trying to add the DIC code to my cluster. I have built the in circuit eeprom tool. Is there a specific line in the hex that can be changed to enable the DIC, similar to the change that is made when adding the trans temp?

When I check for the 95020 I see a few different options does it matter what the rest of the numbers and letters are after if they look the same and is the M95020? On digikey? Will this work for a 06 trailblazer ss? I programmed it and after 50 miles it said odo error did I corrupt it by not ejecting the reader? Thx

I have 03 Silverado that odometer screen on the cluster turned all blue and none of gauges or warnings lights are working. Now I’ve got an all blue odometer screen even when ignition turned off and key out. If anyone has seen this before please help thank you.
