Hello one question here , I used Product version 1 as a component for my manufacturing. Later I would like to change the version of the product(it may change the description). After changing to V2 if I check all the completed manufacturing orders changed the component as new version . How can we do the service ? If any old product comes back to the factory we need to understand which version we used for production.

Hi there. If I understand your question correctly, only new MOs will get updated with the V2 BoM *after* the changes go live. The previous MOs that were already active on the production line before the BoM change will still feature v1 of the BoM. BoM changes are rolled out only on new MOs that follow the BoM revision(s), so this is how you would know which version was used for production. Hope this helps!

@@ltcompany9543 The strategy would be the cross-reference the product's date of production with the "Effective on" date of a BoM version, to determine which version of the BoM is used. Another method, if you either wanted to make the manual check easier or more or less automated, is to add another field with Odoo Studio that shows which BoM version, effective date, etc. was used.
