6:18 I think…the ‘break up’ kinda hit him there but then he understands why it had to happened cuz he knows he deserves it as well. Also with Penelope, I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to write her as ‘someone who became bitter with the gods’. The Trojan War took most of what could have been a peaceful family life for them and about Ody’s indiscretions…well not to defend him but deities have their moments where they curse mortals who spurn their favors.

Also it's important to note that Odysseus said they drift apart *after death*. The conversation also suggests that Penelope forgive Odysseus at first until she learned of his full situation after he confessed. It was an amicable parting he said. So I think it isn't JUST Odysseus's time with Circe(and co.).

I'm curious as to how they are going to handle Odysseus's "unfaithfulness" to his wife. He is certainly regretful of it now, but did he actually cheat on her willingly or not? He says he is not the type to refuse goddesses, and in this setting thats probably the smart thing to do as you don't want to piss the deities off by "refusing" them. There are versions of the myths where he does so willingly but there are others which show the opposite as well. This could also just be the case where the writers are showing that Odysseus is a flawed individual and also made mistakes in the past. It just feels like to me that there is more to it that he is not comfortable telling us just yet. Also, I'm typing this way after the early access was released so I know Circe is in this game, hopefully we get more of this from her
@Hamstir48 ай бұрын
It's rather ambiguous, but I do think Supergiants is having Od be more willing in this case, if the phrasing "my biggest weakness". I thought this would be a one and done story, but I was so wrong. Hades 2 looks to have much grander plans than just little cute stories. Ooh, I'd like to meet Circe at some point. Witches need those meet and greets.
@hjt0917 ай бұрын
Circe is one thing, but I don't think there's any version of the story where his relationship with Calypso is ever portrayed as consensual; she has to be forced to let him leave. Also worth noting is how Odysseus rejected the mortal princess Nausicaa.

Does anyone else find this “Chronos’s rule was a Golden Age for humans” reveal is a massive game-changer? depending on whether this isn’t just a lie, the idea of a man willing to eat his own children to stay in power while simultaneously being a genuinely benevolent ruler who cares for “lesser beings” has the potential to be a really fascinating character. And if it’s genuinely not a lie, then Melinoe succeeding in her mission would prevent a world where mortals don’t have to live in constant fear of running into an Olympian on a bad day from coming about. Considering the “time cannot be stopped” theme, maybe the ultimate goal won’t be killing Chronos but instead convincing him and the Olympians to hash it out?
@Hamstir48 ай бұрын
This was something I wanted to talk about too. Very often the villains have a point, but come off too extreme, thus appear to be in the wrong. I find it tiresome where the audience expect to take a centrist route and say both were in the wrong. If Chronos was sincere, it does complicate their cause, if the main cast they cared for mortals. Hecate’s immediate response was that the mortals will face the wrath of the gods. I really dig your idea that Mel would have to return time and time again to convince Chronos and the gods of some sort of change in the system. Arachne and Dora are perfect cases to support Chronos’s argument. All we need left is Prometheus. And Echo, and Io. Blood and Darkness!

@@Hamstir4 the point Zeus did the same thing of chronos for keeping his power, he turned metis, his first wife in drop of water and drank, same Achille, he stopped the prophesy. Chronos is full of shit. When he reigned, there were no mortals around yet. Zeus and Prometeus created humanity long after they had disposed of Chronos. I don't think much has changed. During the Keepsake segment, Hecate notes the Knuckles gifted by Od are enchanted and she's a bit frightened of it. Mel thought it was Hecate that enchanted them, but Hecate implies it may have been Circe as it was another witch Odysseus has met in his mortal life.
