I had one on my 2012 F-150 too, and really liked it. Definitely worth the cost. Gas cans cannot roll to the front and splash around, etc...I need to find one for a 2019 F-150 now.. Thanks for sharing this..

Seems very versatile. Maybe not as strong as the fixed aluminum version but the convenience of splitting it is nice. Since the one you bought was on a different website for half the price, is it possible to be a knock-off factory part that isn’t as strong. Good simple review 👍

Make a video on how to mount the Max tracks with specifics on products you used. I was thinking of doing the same. Good looking truck and good videos.

Do you know where one might find those delicate plastic latch replacements? Love the vid man! There really isn't much out there about these. I have searched for these latches to no avail thus far. Thanks!
Something I'm not really finding with these Ford extenders, how is the logistics of closing it around large cargo? Imagine sliding a big couch in the bed that the tailgate has to be open for. Would be nice to close the extender around it. But is it even possible to close the extender around it after the couch has already been loaded? And how much do they get in the way during loading? If you load the couch with the extenders collapsed, is it possible to open them? Do they need to be opened first, and then kind of hang out sticking out the back of the truck complicating the loading process? These are the things that matter.
@NSQGarage11 ай бұрын
Yeah that's a good question. They would kind of be difficult to use in the situation. Depending on the dimensions of the couch, you could possibly open the extender in the rearward position and pass the couch through. I don't think you could leave it collapsed and then extend, assuming that the couch goes onto the tailgate.

I removed the 2 hinge pins on both sides. Drilled them out a little and installed one all thread on each side and put a nut on the top. I can remove the all threads. Flip it over. Re install closing sections and all threads around the couch.

Do you know if you can find replacements for the 4 inserts that are used for the locking mechanism that allows the extender to swivel back and forth? I am thinking of getting a used one and don’t think it comes with those… are they even necessary?
@NSQGarage3 жыл бұрын
so if you are referring to the rubber grommets that stay in the sides of the bed, I don't think you need those. if you are referring to the 2 plastic bushing that go on the "pivot bolt", I would say they are necessary. you could probably make your own with a washer and a piece of pvc. if you want me to get some dimensions for you, let me know

Did you have the spray in liner before you installed it? I’m looking to put one on my truck but the threads on bolt holes got a bit covered up when I had my spray in liner done. Will this be an issue?
@NSQGarage Жыл бұрын
i had to kind of peel the bed liner out of the threads. It was line-x so it was fairly easy. i imagine less rubbery bed-liners might be more of a challenge.
@chriswood8703 Жыл бұрын
@@NSQGarage Thank you, I did take a closer look and I’m not even sure if the treads are there or if I need a tool to make some, any recommendations on what to use to peel it away?
@NSQGarage Жыл бұрын
@@chriswood8703 i was skeptical of having threads as well. i am pretty sure they will be there. only the center hole will have threads. i used a small pick.

I wonder if that extender would work on a 2021 F-150 PowerBoost. It seems it could block access to the generator section in the bed’s sidewall.
