The kit is designed to be used with a new bumper with factory made cutout.

The bumper is made with a cutout line. That’s the same way the dealer does it if they don’t order one that’s been cut out.

Hey man awesome video! Have you done the wiring yet? If so did you go oem wiring or like curt brand wiring. If so how did you do the 4 pin end. Did it fit into the hitch bracket or just hanging?

Can't believe that factory part didn't come with those side clips. My guess is whoever was building up those kits didn't include the clips.

I got it from BAM Wholesale Parts and it seemed to be pretty legit. Someone in the Compass group said that their kit included them so maybe they were just forgotten in mine 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@LucidAutowerks that's what I meant by the person working at the factory putting the components in the box made the mistake. Most likely weren't a car person. Just a factory worker.

Was there a part number for the clips in the instructions? All the pictures of the factory kits I’ve seen online do not show the clips. Great video. I’ll be more conservative on my cuts. I know it will take a lot more time but my wife is a little OCD and if it’s a little off she’ll make me buy another bumper and do it again, lol

I got the Curt harness but haven't installed it yet since she only uses it for a bike rack. Hopefully I'll get around to it before spring.
