Occupational English Test is an evaluation of one's competency at English for healthcare environment; in simple words, communication between the interlocutor and the caregiver must ideally toe the line : 'to understand and be understood ' In actual setting, the doctor/ nurse may politely interrupt and request the patient to slow down, in order, for the recipient of the information, to clearly comprehend what is being communicated. On the contrary, responding hastily without fully understanding the patient, will result in misinformation or trigger confusion and dissatisfaction with the health professional. In all humility, let me bring to your notice, I'm one of the pioneers to be certified as an OET trainer, PAN India. In fact, a significant numbers of teachers have been receiving comprehensive coaching under my guidance, since 2004 ( When the OET format was newly introduced in our country.) Hence, if you envision quality learning for all prospective students,in the approaching years, it'd do you immense good, to accept feedbacks without casting aspersions on the intent of the person. Despite possessing 2 decades of teaching experience, ( besides double mastering in British, American, African & Indian Literature plus linguistics, I remain grounded and label myself, a lifelong student sans any stereotyped designation.
