Easily one of the best gay films I have seen this year. The story was tending, touching and heartbreaking. It takes a lot for me to cry and I cried at the end of this film. The opening scheme is like living through a panic attack and for someone who is naturally a calm person, this was hard to deal with. But I survived it to get be rewarded by the greatness of this film.

I cried like a baby….it made me miss my college days ….both the actors were phenomenal . My favourite scene was tension between them when he revealed his ex was a he….gosh I was gasping for air..any recommendations for indie romances with angst??

I thought it was a great film. Beautifully shot. The chemistry and the convincing portrayal of “love at first sight“ by these actors was so good it sort of makes you recall your own memories of the intoxicating feeling having that type of spontaneous, passionate romance. there are very few movies in which I’m interested in watching a sequel but since this movie ended a little bit abruptly, maybe it deserves a sequel? or maybe i just want more for them two? lol

Definitely love this film so much, but don't know if I would want a follow up. I mean, would love to know what happened to them, but it feels like the story is complete as is. They had their special time and now Cole can hopefully move on with his life after finally getting some closure. I'd be worried a sequel would try to Hollywood-ize their relationship, and it felt beautiful and real as is.

I found the movie to be very tender. I’ve been the guy from a family who accepts their queerness who dates a guy who is from a family where it’s less accepted. At the same time though, there is an emotional need on both ends.

Great video, after a film I like to see a person explaining his point of view of a movie, I like how you analyze it. In this case, my mind revolves around the fact that Adam could leave his boyfriend and be with Kol, but on the other hand, I think that having been with her husband for 5 years and having a stable job in another country, it would be highly unlikely. that both ended up together. Too risky , maybe? They barely knew each other. Then I think again that they were so in love that they probably ended up being a couple, but later I think that there was an age difference and that Adam actually felt tenderness, empathy and a kind of admiration for Kol's innocence, but after ten years it was highly unlikely that they were both the same people (like you say at 7:38, ten years later they have different commitments) . In any case, the film shows something very unlikely, which is falling in love through a single hour of travel (on the way back they hardly spoke) and with very few hours of contact between the two to be deeply in love. In this sense and comparing with other 'devastating' ends (it comes to my mind Call me by your name, Weekend, The man with the answers), I think that Elio's pain in Call me by your name, for example, was stronger (although I'm not the one to judge feelings) because there were more experiences between both characters. Here it seems that from the beginning everything was going to be an idyllic love. It is precisely that aspect that impacts mentally. In a recent interview, the director says that he is so interested in a person talking about what his movie is like, but how it has affected him and how it impacts him for days. In that sense I think the story fulfills its purpose 100%. I can't stop turning to the movie!

I've been searching for an explanation of the first scene of the film, when Kol is drinking and calls someone: It seemed like a flashback from the older years. I couldn't tell who he was calling / who he was asking for.

So that happened 3 months before the wedding. Kol was back for some reason and decided to call Ebony when he was drunk. I imagine he was trying to get in touch with Adam but used his smoke screen to ask for Ebony. She was not there but the mother recognizes him and talks to him briefly. This was what then caused Ebony to invite him to the wedding.

@@WatchorPass thanks, I had the same question around, actually I thougt there was some kind of connection with the scene when we see Ebony's husband in the bathroom at the wedding party after making out with a girl. But it's true, in the film Kol says to a stranger girl that he flew there 3 months ago. But then, why did Ebony reproach Kol - before the wedding - not having phoned her if he had tried to contact her? (Probably she reproach the fact that it was 5 years since they hadn't been in touch)

@@LeRomSan That was a surprised additional information- the groom and the bathroom scene. But it looked like Ebony found out since she did not look happy when he was about to leave? Curious what the director had in mind or if this is semi real story?

I worked with Goran back in 2013 (I believe it was) when we were still both starting our careers in the film industry in Melbourne... It was on a Channel 31 project he was directing and I was dressing the set. It was clear Goran was going places.

I just saw it too and asked the person sitting next to me in the theatre what that damn line was. He said it was "you beautiful boy." Maybe, maybe not. It would have helped if this flick had subtitles.

Yes that was the last line. Honestly I’m confused. They didn’t have strong accents. No offense, but I don’t get why this is a question? 🤷‍♂️

What didn't you like about it? I liked the acting, but the franticness of the first scene was very off-putting as was the extended close-ups in the car with the shaky camera. Felt claustrophobic.

@@stevekrause5931 The start was really the only thing I didn't love. It did feel too hectic and too anxiety inducing. But it also did a good job of showcasing Kol's character. But once they were in the car I absolutely loved it. Just the interaction between Kol and Adam was so wonderful.
