Of Dragons and Turtles - Game of Thrones Lore DOCUMENTARY

Wizards and Warriors animated fantasy documentary lore video series on GRR Martin's world of Ice and Fire continues. Previously, we have covered the story of the rise and fall of the Targaryens ( • Rise and Fall of the T... ) and the story of the Game of Thrones before the Winds of Winter ( • Game of Thrones - Full... ). Our new series will deal with the earliest history of Essos and Valyria and in the first episode we will talk about the clash between the Dragon and the Harpy - the so-called Ghiscari Wars, as the Old Empire of Ghis and the rising new power of the Valyrian Freehold clash in brutal conflict ( • Of Dragons and Harpies... ). The expansion of Valyria continued agains the Rhoynar and Andals.

The City of Lorath may be the 'lesser' of the Nine Free Cities, but it has an interesting history:- the earliest inhabitants where the mysterious mazemakers that built maze like structures; afterwards came the hairy people akin to the men of Ib; then came the Andals that would be led by Qarlon the Great until his campaign against the Free City of Norvos would lead to his kingdom's destruction by the dragonlords. After a century of abandonment, the isles would become inhabited by religious dissidents known as the worshippers of Boash, the Blind God. These new Lorathi would become the foundation of the Lorath of current times.

I know there was a Doom of Valyria series that was one of the early pitches but was shelved. If they ever go back to visit it they should do it in animation. That would definitely help with costs.

I know George R.R. Martin drew a lot from history for his stories, (e.g. The Wall vs. Hadrian's Wall built by the Romans; down to the number of keeps/mile forts along them both,) so I can't help but wonder if he drew the Rhoynar's reluctance to band together and eventual cooperation from the Gallic Wars and the way that the Gauls united under Vercingetorix
