If we are healthy, live our lives. If we are sick, stay home and get healthy. It is what we always should do. This is clearly a test on how willing we are to give up our freedoms in the face of personal condemnation.

@WhiteChocolate Bear Thank you. If we think logically about this, it is too ordered, too manipulative. Either this virus is one entity that ebbs and flows at its own will - (even little sparsely populated towns are reporting "increased cases" and mandating masks.), or it is one puppet-master pulling the strings and reporting false numbers to the media outlets. I'm veering towards the latter.

@@mypony891 I have a Catholic friend who lives in Pakistan. Every day his entire life , most of the village goes to Mass. Nothing opens until after Mass. Every day, they live with the threat of having people of another religions come into their village and slaughter them. But they go to Mass anyway. Suddenly, there was a virus. And the Bishop shut down their church for their safety. Because a virus is more deadly than a bomb. So every morning, 7 days a week, they meet on the church doorstep and pray together. They are separated from the Mass, but not from each other.

all so true , but our home should be treated as our home Church and our table should be inviting and ready for soulful peaceful loving encounters with our loved ones. This table should be ready for the most Devine. We are living so still we must laugh play enjoy. Our bodies are our little temple and we must keep it also presentable and worthy. Merryment must go on. I prey I meditate I am using this time to put myself together so when I return to mass it will be intact as I look within then I can shine without.@@SAINTRAPHAELMARY

On March 8th, the Surgeon General advised that masks do not prevent getting COVID. However, this does not mean that masks don't prevent from giving COVID. As far as I can tell, the last day the CDC recommended to not wear a face mask (explicitly in order to save them for professionals) was April 3rd. Just like the scientific method, the recommendations can change with new evidence.

@@ryans339 You don't seem to understand that this is a process and getting people to follow unnecessary rules so that we will all follow like sheep;this is the method to their madness. The cases you cite, seat belts and helmets, have scientific basis for using them. The use of masks for preventing the Wuhan virus has no scientific basis. The size of a typical virus is a few micrometers whereas the typical size of mask pores is 80-500 micrometers; masks are like sieves to viruses. They pass through masks. Masks were never necessary to overcome previous viruses and they are unnecessary now. They are trying to control people through fear. Many people are seeing through the charade.

Is there anything that could be more important than religious liberty? Let's look at the Ancient tradition, of St Paul who was the apostle to most of our ancestors. In Romans, chapter 13 he says: 13 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of him who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain; he is the servant of God to execute his wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay all of them their dues, taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due. Why did he say this? Because what is more important than our liberty is for the Church to be a model to those unbelievers, so that we may bring them to Christ. So wear a mask, if not for yourself, but so that you don't scandalize the church and work against the mission of our savior.
