Yes I’ve had a former gf tell me I was obsessed with Christ. “Thou shall love the lord thy God with thy whole heart, mind, soul, and strength.” So many of us put all sorts of things above God. Brother, let us both become a consecrated religious

In the presence of a happiness which shall last forever and ever and ever, the satisfaction of a few minutes looses more of its charm. Eternity compares length of time to length of time, length of pleasure to length of pleasure, length of sorrow/pain to length of sorrow. Blessed be God!

The ignorance of inevitable death will lead us to habitual sin. The consideration of inevitable death will aid us in fighting temptation and ultimately make us Saints.

Our priests here hardly preach about death or hell. All their sermons are prepared to make us feel good. Alas! What can we expect from post -Vatican priests!!

These Saints of the Desert had no Eucharist? No Sacrament of Penance? Don't we need those things?

Hermit: kind of hard to love your neighbor when you don't have any.

Hans I understand these saintly hermits often offer prayers and extremely challenging sacrifices for the salvation of others. In that way they are loving their neighbour.
