This is so awful & brutal. What an amazing, beautiful, smart & talented woman who was achieving AND serving. She was about to earn her Master’s & was serving as an officer of the law thereby helping her community. She was setting an example for all the emulate especially for little girls of color who could look to her example as one of achievement, selflessness, sacrifice & service. What a loss. My heart weeps for her & my heart breaks for her family & loved ones. RIP. I hope justice is served swiftly & they catch the dirt bag who stole her entire future away from her & her from her family. If there was no signs of struggle but her badge & service weapon were stolen from her after she was murdered it could indicate that she knew her killer. A jealous ex lover perhaps? I pray they catch the perp. The community & country should be absolutely outraged & furious over this. She was an actual role model & upstanding citizen that was cruelly & callously murdered. This is a huge loss across the board. Sad.😰😧😟 for her & her family but angry😡😠🤬 at the feckless pols, DAs, etc that are allowing criminals to rage with impunity & crime fester & spiral out of control. Just unreal. They criticize saying “thoughts & prayers🙏” but we mean it just like we mean stop with protecting criminals & making a mockery of the victims. Yes, we have a large prison population but release the non violent offenders like drug addicts & stop letting violent repeat offenders, violent felonious criminals & sex offenders go with a slap on the wrist. We have a large prison population because we have a large number of criminals & major crime & violence epidemic wreaking havoc on our citizens, families, & very fiber of our society. This has happened before. But the off duty officer wasn't killed. This has to stop. It's a catch and release culture in Chicago when it comes to criminals.
