Good thing the guy in the video didn’t argue with the cop, he just complied and the misunderstanding was resolved without anyone getting hurt. The officer should be embarrassed and put on probation at least. One thing that baffles me is why the cashier just sits there and doesn’t say anything until he’s directly asked. No blog lines will probably allow time to unpackage this and do justice, assuming there is such a thing. The off duty officer handled this situation poorly. Without knowing what kind of day he had, he is now off duty and likely near home as it's along his ride presumably. He was slow/ sloppy on his draw and if a true criminal he likely would've been shot. When your first choice is the highest level of force it leaves little room to deseclate or even resolve a matter. The patron later says not to fire but training. I've seen a few bloggers say he is pass trainable, there is something below the surface, and the system cannot be relied on to investigate much less address. Without knowing his day, he is likely local to the area. As my late father would say "it takes two cents to jiggle." His actions as much play into the outcome as the other person's. When you pull out a firearm it leaves little room to deseclate.

Go read the full story and then watch the video closely before jumping into conclusions. The cop assumed the victim was stealing merchandise from the store by pocketing stuff and when the victim tried to hastily pull out the candy from his coat to show it was the item he bought, the cop thought he was pulling out a weapon thus why the cop quickly pulled out his gun. It was just a massive misunderstanding. I would blame this on the American system more than anything, too many unstable loonies with guns out there and too many trigger happy law enforcement officers.

@@fraz727 That's what DarkZerol highlighted, it was a misunderstanding between both parties.
